2, and 6 are fine, although I agree that Cutrer is not likely to be available in the sixth round. Who knows who'll be available in round seven? I don't like rounds three and four. Butt has torn the same ACL twice, and Kaaya is just a backup in all likelihood. He doesn't have the arm or the mobility need in Giants stadium.
Now, think about this. We know that the Giants favor drafting WR, DL, DB (70%+) with our top three picks. Then we know that we have immediate needs at OL, TE and even RB that are greater than our needs at LB. But given all this we're using our top choice on a LB, the position with the lowest priority/need on the team.
And, of course, given the fact that the Giants favor drafting WR, DL, DB with our top three picks, we aren't picking even one of those with any of our top three picks. Ok then.
Would like Davis, Bowser or Watt in round 1. There is a chance Willis is the pick at 23.
OL in the 2nd is fine but we have a fapping hole at DT. Tomlinson or Walker there IMO. Shaheen over Butt. Kaaya is ok. I like Connor. The rest I hVe no clue on.
im on board with this...love the first three. if worried about butt, there are some other options including shaheen, hodges, everett, or sprinkle all of who should be there
could replace Eli in a few years. He has talent, but I'm not really a fan of his upside. I also wouldn't draft Butt until day 3. He was hardly a good athlete before he got injured. I don't see much upside with him either.
1. Davis, LB UF
2. Dion Dawkins, OL Temple
3. Jake Butt
4. Brad Kaaya
5. James Conner, RB Pitt
6. Jeremy Cutrer, CB, Middle Tennessee
7. Jeremiah Ledbetter, DT, Arkansas
Davis, sure... but where does he play this year with the veterans... and you don't draft DT until the 7th in this draft, when it's absolutely the biggest need on this team.
Dawkins would be fantastic if he lasts until 55 (doubtful).
However, Butt is at least a round too early and there will be bigger talents at 87.
Kaaya - the only QB worth drafting for the Giants is Trubisky, and he'll be gone. Peterman around here, maybe. But too many other holes to spend a 4th round pick on, and IMO Kaaya has a career back-up ceiling. This pick really sucks. Late in the fourth round we should be able to get a decent player that will actually contribute.
Conner is a short-yardage specialist who doesn't really add much to the team from a talent perspective.
Cutrer, fine.
Ledbetter - he'll be gone before the 7th. And even if he's there, this is too late to get a DT.
I hope Stapleton is wrong, this draft would be a wasted opportunity.
1. Will Cutterer last until the 6th?
2. Do they really need to draft a QB this year?
