First it was 'I want to get paid', then it was 'I want to win', and it ended up 'hey, I just need a job'.
I know some liked him, but even if you could look past his indiscretions there's no way the Giants could carry his baggage after what happened with Brown.
Peterson a month ago: I ONLY WANT TO SIGN WITH A CONTENDER (also wants 8m a yr)
Peterson today: Signs with Saints for 3m a yr
With 8.5 mil in incentives. Who know how likely they are, but he is betting on himself to get the number he wanted.
I just heard the interview with Anderson on ESPN. She said that Peterson "now understands that there was going to be an adjustment to the salary he used to make" IE- no one was paying him close to what he wanted and he had to take a paycut to stay in the NFL.
There was no demand for him. All the places he wanted to go (Seattle, Oakland, maybe the Giants) all didn't return the interest. Only the Saints seemed to jump at him, and even that at a cut rate salary.
My guess is the Giants spoke to him, and to Blount, and told them that they are going to see how the draft goes, and if they don't draft a RB or see one they like, they will look to sign one of them. I wouldn't be shocked, if a big back in the later rounds isn't there for the Giants, if Blount was signed by Saturday (total guess, no asshat stuff).
Reggie bush coming out of USC or Christian McCaffrey?
Also should we expect their careers to be similar?
Interesting question. If we looked back from before Bush was drafted, you would probably say Bush. If you know what you'd get out of Bush, not sure how high he would go. Certainly not #2. Now I'd say McCaffrey. He seems a bit bulkier and willing to take on contact.

Maybe this means they're going John Ross.

Forgot about Snead. Make that Mike Williams/Corey Davis.
Will the Saints change their whole offensive philosophy? Will Brees be ushered toward the exit?
Also should we expect their careers to be similar?

Not necessarily. Peterson is just a stopgap.
