7 Round Mock-umental Draft

Giantgator : 4/25/2017 6:59 pm
Who knew drafting players was so tough? Really makes you appreciate the pros, who are not only on the clock, but can have their top prospects all scooped up right before their pick. It really is tough to find the top talent at each spot, and consider team needs for the rest of the picks. No draft will ever fill all your needs, but if you can knock out a few...That said, here goes:

Rd. 1 Tyus Bowser LB Houston
"Force" LB that rushes the passer, good against the run, and can cover. We need more pass rush than JPP and OV alone can give us.

Rd. 2 Taylor Moton OG/OT Western Michigan
Smart, strong and versatile. Could start at two spots on our craptastic line.

Rd. 3 Gerald Everett TE South Alabama
I considered Engram in the first (I think Njoku and Howard are gone), but not sure the value was there. Everett is a playmaker, and will at least try to block. I know, small hands, but maybe Skiba can dig up some of Nicks' old Mickey Mouse gloves so they at least look bigger.

Rd. 4 Nazair Jones DT UNC
Good size, and the Giants have expressed interest. Another tree to try and throw through.

Rd. 5 Corn Elder CB Miami
This starchy Mormon is primarily a slot corner. A gamer, and tough against the run.

Rd. 6 Joe Williams RB Utah
One scout said he "runs like a scalded dog." Bradshaw "ran like he was angry at the ground." More troubled RB gold at the back end of the draft?

Rd. 7 David Jones S Richmond
A broken forearm causes the FS to fall. The Giants seem to love Spiders.
I really like this draft

Realistic and good value while filling needs. You have been paying attention to Dave TE's info too.
I would

Joe Williams is someone I'm going to be on the lookout for next year to see how he pans out.

Corn Elder would be a fun guy to see in our secondary. Could be a real leader back there.

would LOVE this!
Also Everett seemed like a victim of his offense

His QB was trash.
Nice work and I echo what i'm reading above

however, I would ideally like to get one of the other LBers in the first.

While I love the fast-twitch athleticism that jumps out on Tyus Bowser's tape, I cant help but notice he's a bit of a drag down arm tackler. While he penetrates the LOS and gets to the ball quickly, he doesn't seem to drive through ball carriers.

Guys like Foster, Reddick, Davis and even Cunningham to a lesser extent, all punish people. Though I would certainly not be unhappy with the pick, I would prefer one of the other 4 being considered certain RD1 guys.

4 and 5

If Njoku is there at 23 I'd rather have him

Not sold on Bowser as some are but I would like Cunningham
I like this Draft but...
Torrag : 4/25/2017 9:09 pm : link
...I see Moton as an OG and I'm hoping Fluker is the answer there. I'd prefer an OL that can project to OT even if he needs some development.

It only takes one. This applies to Joe Williams going before round 6. One organization falls in love with that 4.41 and he's gone by Round 5 at the latest imo. Even in this strong RB class.

Really like a lot of your other choices. Thanks.
Again with Bowser...

This kid Is not even ranked top 5 by mayock and is #80 on the top 100 prospect list he's 245, hes not going to do anything as an edge rusher and if they giants were going to go LB in ths first round there are 7 other prospects ahead of him that are better athletes with better production
very realistic draft
Vanzetti : 4/26/2017 5:52 am : link
good job
