Thanks.
Discounting the middle school stuff...

He still managed to get himself in trouble numerous times in college and interviewed poorly. If your company keeps getting in trouble in your presence, why will that suddenly stop when you have money? He comes across well in the article, sure, but the character stuff isn't imaginary, and it isn't JUST the product of some jilted saboteur.
And tomorrow you will see a

Mixon fluff piece that explains he is just misunderstood.
Dalvin Cook's

Interviewed poorly? I've heard the exact opposite. And besides the accusation he was acquitted of there isn't much else there in college
If we sign Blount and team him with Perkins and Vereen,
PatersonPlank : 4/25/2017 11:25 pm : link
then I see no reason to draft a RB in an round. BPA be damned, there will be other "roughly equally rated" players we can choose from that fill a need.
One of my favorite players

In this draft. Has the most natural running ability of the top backs and can do it all. Can run inside, outside, run pass patterns and catch the ball well, block. Obviously he is not a boy scout but I would pick him at #23.
Thanks. Good article.

We sometimes forget the environment some of these kids come from. That said, he seems to just make poor decisions. Whatever team takes him needs to have a plan. Would the NYC area be the best place for him?
I'd have to think
LakeGeorgeGiant : 4/26/2017 6:36 am : link
that the "entourage" we keep hearing about, if true, would be a huge turnoff for the Giants.
There is almost no chance Giants draft Cook at 23
ZogZerg : 4/26/2017 6:40 am : link
if he is there.
Agree with LGG and ZZ

When was the last Reese 1st rounder who wasn't squeaky clean?

I talked with an acquaintance that knows him. His problem is he still hangs with his buddies in Miami that have run ins with the law - believe that is what Dave TE was talking about. This fellows says Cook is a good kid, but loyal to the kids from his old neighborhood.
So getting him out of Miami would likely be a good thing.

He also heard that the 3 shoulder surgeries are the thing that the teams are questioning - bigger concern.

FWIW
I have a hard time paying Vereen

That kind of money when AP makes 3.5m.
there is another article there about the eagles

how they sent Duce Staley to talk to his grandmother. They are very interested but don't think he will be there at pick 14.

That's coming from the article, itself a puff piece advocating on his behalf.
From Dave Te-Why Blount Makes Sense
nflscouting : 4/26/2017 11:43 am : link
No matter what, inside the red zone, your running backs are a perfect option. In the last two years, Blount leads the NFL in TD runs inside the 5-yard marker, including 13 last seasons. He's a short yardage specialist, one whose motto might be - coach, you need me to get you 2 yards, I get you two yards. You need me to get you four yards, I get you two yards. Doesn't matter how you do it, pretty or not, those six points are six points
