ESPN Mock---Bolles

BleedBlue : 4/25/2017 9:49 pm
ESPN aired a mock draft tonight at 8. Ranaan made the pick. I would not be happy about this pick especially with njoku on the board.

That being said this mock seemed to be a joke. Corey Davis fell to 30. njoku and engram weren't taken. McDowell was taken before us. a lot of shitty picks/decisions but didn't see it posted anywhere so I figured I would share.
I'd be pretty pissed if we passed on Corey Davis

Im just not sold on Bolles and reading Dave's review, it just makes me like him less. I would hate this pick.

Also, Not sure why all of his off the field issues aren't red flags.

Yea, i agree. I think he is going to be really special. there are a few players in this draft I love and he is one. The concern would be how does he make an immediate impact? talk about just going 10 personal and tossing the rock all over the park lol. I think he can be really special, but with OBJ, shep, and now marshall i think if davis is there the giants may field offers
There are others I want more

I'd be cool with Bolles though. He's a stud. Reminds me of Lane Johnson. Everybody is worried about his age, but he's an OL they typically play longer. Andrew Whitworth was drafted at the same age. Not a worry for me at all.
Davis

is the one and only guy I'd throw my draft plans out the window for. He's special, he will be a stud.

Besides, while we at least appear relatively stacked at WR, who knows how a 33-y.o. Marshall will really do (and he's only here for 2 years)? Who knows what will happen with OBJ contract-wise? He might want such an insane amount of $$ that having Davis would help us absorb his loss.
Neither McShay or Polian liked the pick

both commented that the OT's in this draft are not step in right away starters and that with Njoku on the board it would have represented better value for the Giants and improved their offense.

Bolles with better players on the board

As the pick would represent exactly what Reese says he doesn't want to do: force the pick. With my guy Njoku available and we pick Bolles likely results in my heading to Best Buy for a new flat screen.

" Everybody is worried about his age, but he's an OL they typically play longer. Andrew Whitworth was drafted at the same age."

It's not longevity, those three years means he's reached his peak, those three years were such an advantage that he should have totally dominated at the college level.
They say he's not strong enough...well a 25 year old SHOULD be, and it's questionable that he has the same growth potential regard strength as a 22 year old.

This is the one pick in the whole draft that I don't like.
Can someone explain...
2ndroundKO : 4/25/2017 10:59 pm : link
what about back-up Miami TE Njoku that is so special? Aside from the fact that he jumps real high.

Doesn't run great routes

So-so hands

Not a good blocker

Raw as heck

Great muscular definition with long arms and room for 10 more pounds. Elite athlete and seam buster deluxe. Can stick a foot in the ground and break in either direction at a 90-degree angle in shorter routes. Tremendous acceleration out of breaks to separate and widen the window for quarterbacks. Opens the throttle in open field. When he catches it on the move, the YAC yards can become an avalanche. Was 7 foot high-jumper in high school and can go up and over most everyone he faces. Hand quickness to get a last second push-off and still get hands up to secure catch. Finds soft spots against zones. Plays outside, from the slot and in-line. Willing to compete as a blocker. Can push defensive backs around from slot. Gets early arm extension into defender and looks to create some turn. Shows lateral blocking ability for zone scheme.

Ascending pass catching talent with elite athleticism and enough fight in his run blocking to believe that he can be lined up anywhere on the field at any time. Njoku should annihilate the combine with monster numbers in speed and explosion, but his play on the field shows he's more than a combine warrior. He is still growing into his body and has to add to his play strength, but his playmaking potential and elite traits should make him a first-round pick and a future Pro Bowler.
I'm fine with one of Bolles/Cam/Lamp/Ram

Bolles' wonderlic was a 9
Vanzetti : 4/26/2017 5:49 am : link
Highly unlikely the Giants take him. Flaherty said about 50 times that the most important attribute in an OL is intelligence. I know he is gone but I think Giants put a lot more stock in the wonderlic than a lot of other teams.

Odell scored 34 iirc. Very high for a WR. Eli was also high. It is definitely a factor for the Giants. Especially on the OL where you have to execute so many different types of blocks
Who gives a shit

These mock drafts are a dime dozen. You can speculate till the cows come home who is going to take who all you want they never get it right anyway. You talk about selling a product that produces nothing sheeesh. It's like eating a fucking rice cake. You can eat the whole fucking bag and still be hungry.

And all these mocks are all over the place. It's nice to talk about who needs what and who they might take but people look at these mocks as if they are set in reality. Who gives a shit. They put these mock drafts on TV like they are real events. It's like chum to a fish for those who think they bear any weight. It's as absurd as having the drafts be a three day event. Back in the day when there was 12 or was it 15 rounds they did it all in one day. Now they need 3 fucking days for 7 fucking rounds.

Both didn't like it.says no OT worth 1st Rd pick. Have to get a playmaker here. Njoku, Davis, foster if he drops. No doubt they need oline but, not at this pick.
