Looking for a program variation and I remember this was the hottest thing a few years back. Curious if anyone has used it and would recommend it or still uses it?
I can recommend it now. Always have trouble pushing my cardio or my lifting pace when I'm alone. P90x dvds helped with that. I never tried the diet stuff.
Gives you access to most of their programs so you can explore and find the one you like best. ended up liking some that I would never had thought to buy going out into it.
The newer p90x videos are supposed to be better though I haven't done them yet. Was told it went from 45 min workouts to 30 with same results.

A lot of the negative comments I read was that it was unnecessarily long and unnecessarily difficult, as in, you could get similar or better results with a more efficient program.
and still incorporate elements of it in my current workouts. I do a 30 minute interval workout on an elliptical, then do an abbreviated P90x chest/back, arms/shoulders, or legs/back workout.
If you generally follow it. The weight workouts are good. After the first couple times thru you will push quickly thru. Best shape of my life when doing it.
I haven't done it in a while, but it is a GREAT routine to throw in between my (or anyone else's) typical weightlifting split changes. It builds muscle endurance, which most lifter's (ME) don't focus on. And actually if you get a weighted vest you can build some pretty good muscle with it. Even with just body weight your body will respond for a time.
I used to think it was too long... but really it's not as long as it seems. Around an hour and 15 minutes (hour and a half with ab ripper). I spend that much time at the gym every day anyway, and more when you add the commute. I think it seems longer because it can get monotonous. Still, a great workout I highly recommend.
Not P-90 X a year ago. Followed the general plan and guidelines for diet. I lost 50 LBs. P-90 is a spectacular program for someone who is starting out and not in great physical condition. I still do it once or twice a week but have fallen in love with hitting the heavy bag for 25 minutes every other day. I did put about 10 LBs back on but that was a result of poor eating choices and I'm back on track and it's coming off again.

Yeah I'm in good shape, but too much on the belly. Just finished a bulking/strength building program and now want to get cut. I'm going to give it a week or two and see how it works out.

Thanks for the replies everyone.
