Has too much Waters whining about his Daddy and Mommy issues.
He had a tough upbringing in a time of war. We get it. But he got to hang around after it unlike the others in WW2 European countries, that perished.
Wish you were Here,is a good album other than the Sid songs.
Great album, huge part of my growing up. But I have to say that Wish You Were Here has held up a bit better over time. Dark Side is also great. One the all time great bands.
Growing up in the 80s, the Wall was a big presence...
but that's a semi-rare occurrence. I also only tend to listen when I can listen to the entire album, which really is how it should be listened to. I think Echoes is Floyd at their very best. It's everything that makes them what they are in 23 perfect minutes. My favorite full album is Animals. Q
...simply far more massive in scope than their other efforts, multiple lyrical and musical themes interwoven in an a gorgeous D-major tapestry - Gilmour's playing is absolutely epic throughout, the album is packed with countless emotional peaks - absolutely gorgeous. It is the pinnacle of everything Floyd had done before, theatrical drama, technical mastery, psychedelic perfection.
Not only Pink Floyd's best - I always list it in my top 3 all-time rock albums.
I don't really put on any other PF to listen to a whole album. Wish You Were Here is fantastic, but just overplayed. I love Shine On You Crazy Diamond.
The Wall/Final Cut are probably my least listened to. If you combine the two and take the best 10 tracks, it's a GOOD album I think?
Side note, since she's been 3 my daughter LOVES Piper. The Gnome/Bike are here two favorite.
to Animals most often, but my most underrated album is Obscured by Clouds. There are some A+ songs on that album...
"Underrated" debates get tiresome, so apologies in advance, but I think the More soundtrack is more underrated, since it's off the radar for so many people. And it has some really kick ass songs like "The Nile Song" and beautiful gentles songs like "Green is the Colour" and "Cymbaline."
I also think Animals is too often underappreciated.

They are one of the greatest bands ever.
BTW:
Dark Side = weed
Wish You Were Here = Acid
Trust me on that, padawans
Not only Pink Floyd's best - I always list it in my top 3 all-time rock albums.
High Hopes (probably my 2nd fav PF song)
Lost for Words
A Great Day for Freedom
Keep Talking
Marooned
I think their BEST is DSOTM.
In order of what I listen to the most:
Piper
Meddle
Animals
DSOTM

Love The Wall though and saw the concert twice 32 years apart.
I too think Division Bell is underrated along with Meddle.
But whichever you rank #1 we all agree they are a great band.
As far as Floyd goes Animals and Meddle are tops in my book followed very closely by DSOTM, DSOT and The Wall.
The Wall movie Waters put out recently is excellent. Turn down the lights in the home theater and crank it from start to finish. AWESOME.

Listen to Water's new song.. there's a "Dogs" breakdown in it.
damn, I miss Levon and Ricky.
