Only kicker on the roster is Aldrick Rosas .Are we gonna take a kicker in the middle rounds ? Maybe Zane Gonzalez from Arizona St as he seems to be the best of the 2017 class
the worst way to waste a pick. Especially before rd 6-7. Ones that come to mind Janikowski (great career but not for a 1st), Nugent (nuff said). The value of what you get in the draft compared to what you can find in UDFA or FA is not far off. Am I missing something?
They asked for reports on 10 kickers. Only ones they wanted additional info on were Gonzalez-Arizona State, Matt Davis-UNC-Pembroke & Elliott-Memphis, but the Stanford kid, Ukropina is getting attention from other teams. Likely only Gonzalez & Elliott get called on draft day, but Davis could end up being the best of the bunch
I think the chances are good that a Kicker won't be drafted

I think any first rounder that has played for your team for 17 years is a solid pick and He also holds the record for most FG made over 50 yds.
How many first round player don't get a 2nd contract with the same team.
If you draft any player in any round that ends up starting for you for 8 to 10 years is a solid pick.
another team that has less at kicker than the Giants? That could work in their advantage if they don't draft one. The best UDFAs available will be looking for the place to win a job and it's wide open in East Rutherford right now.
Didn't the Bucs take a Kicker in the 2nd round last year
They trade into the 2nd round to get Roberto Aguayo.
He had an up and down year 22 for 31 71%
his Longest kick was 43 yds.
65% of his kickoffs were touchbacks
There was a ton of hype about this kid going into the draft
Rough year. Hopefully for them it was rookie nerves

Agreed but a 1st or 2nd for a kicker? There's no guarantee that he'll play 17 years at a high level for you. Even 2nd and 3rd rounders to me I'd rather have a skill position. You can find a guy each year to hit a field goals easier than a potential starter or star positional player even if it's far from a sure thing.

I am absolutely with you I would never want the Giants to do it either.
The Raiders have gotten away with it twice.
