NFL Draft: Who has better coverage NFL Network or ESPN?

NYG27 : 4:10 pm
For years NFL Network simply had the best coverage of the draft. Although in the last year or two, ESPN's coverage has been better.

As such, I'll primary watch ESPN but will switch to NFL Network during commercials.

NFL Network hands down.

The only time I see ESPN is when I'm forced to at the gym.
Ahh, the yearly question,
barens : 4:14 pm : link
NFL Network always for me. ESPN may do offer more highlights, but I can't stand anyone of their analysts/broadcasters. Mayock, Eisen and the NFL Network every year for me.

Used to think the same but ESPN in the last year or two had better overall coverage. They really streamlined their coverage last year and didn't have a lot of talking heads on set.
NFL Network

Michael Mayock is much easier for me to take than Mel Kiper. Kiper is smug, condescending, and grates on my nerves.
NFL networks
coverage is better. Their highlight packages are extremely limited which hurts it (ESPN price gouges to NFL network the clip packages since the majority of college football is played under the ESPN/ABC umbrella) so this leads to an over-reliance of the Senior Bowl & Combine Coverage that the NFL network owns. I normally DVR ESPN and watch NFL network. Once the analysis is thru on NFL network I'll jump back on the ESPN coverage to watch the highlight package.
I will say this
I like ESPN better on day three. I think they actually show more clips and talk about the players more. And I hate ESPN. The NFL Network has taken a nose dive.

What does Mel Kiper know? He never put on a jock strap.

NFL Network has been following ESPN's death spiral. Neither is very good.

I miss the days when the draft was a day-time weekend event that lasted hours and hours and was filled with "draft nerd" talk.
For those that say Mayock
Am I forgetting or is he not on all 3 days?

Eric you nailed it. I normally watched NFL Network because I hate ESPN with a passion. However, recently NFL Network is becoming more like ESPN. Very disappointing!!

I follow it online and pull up the videos of the folks I'm interested in ... I'd probably watch ESPN if it weren't for Kiper ... I think he's one of the most annoying AHs on TV.
They both suck
Danny Kanell : 4:48 pm : link
But I still find myself watching ESPN, I guess just because of tradition of always watching it on ESPN forever.
Somehow the NFL network has out ESPNed ESPN
jlukes : 4:54 pm : link
and is just awful outside of Mayock.

ESPN's coverage has mellowed out a bit and is better to watch now

+1,000. Then the Giants pick, they spend maybe 2 minutes on the pick, and start talking about the Patriots/Steelers/Cowboys
Mayock is definitely more appealing to listen to
Jimmy Googs : 5:27 pm : link
versus ESPN crew. NFLN wins here.
Out of tradition I always watch ESPN
Amtoft : 5:33 pm : link
Even Kiper, who people hate, I dig because I grew up on it. NFL network is always doing interviews it seems now so it bugs me. I like Mayock better so I usually watch ESPN and record NFL network for only fast forwarding to watch and hear the Giants picks. I rarely watch live as I don't get home until 6PM PST which means the draft is already going and I fast forward through commercials. This year I just moved and won't have any live TV to watch so I will be watching only ESPN with no rewind on my appletv.

Very true
NFL Network when Michael Mayock is on
in the later rounds when he is off you probably should find something better to do with your day.
