Was hoping we'd shake the stench of fucking dogshit off tonight but it doesn't look like it.
Gsellman 3 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs and only one out in the top of the first.
Fuck this team.
It's still early until it ain't.
Why on earth would the Braves trade him? He is the best first baseman in baseball and only 27. He batted .302/.400/.569 with 34 homeruns last season and is off to an even better start this season.
They think he may have tweaked his ankle on his slide into second base in the first inning.
Flash
He has to play Tj a few times a week
Game is already over. Mets ain't scoring 7 runs tonight
Let him go 3 innings

One thing for the #4 starter to get hit around... now the bullpen isn't doing well either.
Oh well... let's just win tomorrow please and win a few this weekend.
The Mets will be 6 out after tonight which basically consists of them being 2-8 in their last 10 and the Nats being 8-2 in last 10.
It happens. Its a long season. nats will have a losing streak and Mets will have a winning streak. No one plays .800 baseball all year and no plays .200 baseball all year.

The Mets had huge runs in August and September of both seasons.
he isnt getting fired. At all this year.
Blevins/Salas/Robles have to pitch every night

I'm not sure that I get your point. Are you trying to say being 6 games behind the Nationals isn't a big deal?
It's a long season and the Mets certainly aren't out of it, but not even the most optimistic projections had the Mets finishing 6 games ahead of the Nationals. We've basically went from 50%ish to win the division to 10%ish. That's a disaster of a month. I'd think that anyone who really was a big Met fan would be disappointed and upset.
We will have to play for the wild card thi s season again.
Thats pathetic, but hasn't been as bad as Reyes or Granderson.

Everyone but Bruce/Conforto is struggling on this week
My frustration is more with the make-up of this team than it is the win/loss record. The Nats are probably one of the most consistently good teams in MLB. The Mets are consistently bad more than they are good. By a lot.
I was really hoping that Sandy would have addressed the glaring issues the team had but it seemed like he doubled down on them. Not sure the point of having a top of the league rotation if you are going to have a bottom of the league offense.
This team has a ton of potential and the leadership seems to consistently get the least out of them. Along with not knowing when to "cut the cord", so to speak.
I really dont care about what the % as those tend to not matter either. A lot of events happened over the last year that people would have said had a very small % chance of occurring.
What were the odds when the Cubs were down 3-1?
The Mets have a solid roster. Harvey/Thor/DeGrom/wheeler/Matz with familia closing, a lineup with Cespedes, Bruce and others will win a lot of games. Walker, Reyes, Granderson wont hit under .200 all year, etc.
Collins has proven he can manage this roster over the course of an entire season through thick and thing and get them to perform at the end when its more important.
This Mets team is good for 90+ wins. This team will be in the hunt in September for the Division and/or the wild card. No doubt.
