They probably should have stuck to skipping Gsellman
.
arcarsenal : 4/26/2017 7:22 pm : link
Jeez, really not a good start to the year for Gsellman.

Was hoping we'd shake the stench of fucking dogshit off tonight but it doesn't look like it.
LOL, Freeman isn't even close to out.
arcarsenal : 4/26/2017 7:23 pm : link
This is an easy overturn
Fantastic start for the Mets, picking up right where they left off.
PhiPsi125 : 4/26/2017 7:24 pm : link
Should be a fun one against Teheran.

Gsellman 3 hits, 2 walks, 2 runs and only one out in the top of the first.
LOL Mets
PhiPsi125 : 4/26/2017 7:27 pm : link
Same shit as it always is.
What a fucking joke.
arcarsenal : 4/26/2017 7:28 pm : link
NHL live it is!

Fuck this team.
So much for all that rest the BP got.
PhiPsi125 : 4/26/2017 7:29 pm : link
Rooting for this team is really torture.
Dude hasn't got one out

Welp! I thought it might get worse before it gets better
ZGiants98 : 4/26/2017 7:31 pm : link
We might not win again until next week! Teheran and Dickey is no fucking picnic. I'd say it's between a 1-5% chance we score 5 runs off Teheran tonight.
Lol. Just read the Mets have scored
ZGiants98 : 4/26/2017 7:32 pm : link
3 runs off Teheran over 43 INNINGS. lmao.
This team is circling the drain.
PhiPsi125 : 4/26/2017 7:35 pm : link
This team could very likely be 10 games out by the end of the month. And that's a big hole to dig out of. Sandy's system absolutely sucks.

It's still early until it ain't.
Is Reyes forked?

How is Cespedes considered a Gold Glove caliber player and how

the heck did he ever win one? Outside of an amazing arm he's not that great defensively.

Why on earth would the Braves trade him? He is the best first baseman in baseball and only 27. He batted .302/.400/.569 with 34 homeruns last season and is off to an even better start this season.
What happened to Brandon Phillips?
Jay on the Island : 4/26/2017 8:15 pm : link
I missed it.

They think he may have tweaked his ankle on his slide into second base in the first inning.
Terry Collins insistence on playing Reyes every single day sums
PhiPsi125 : 4/26/2017 8:22 pm : link
up this team perfectly. I'd bet everything that you could pluck out any third baseman in any level of the minors and get better production, offensively and defensively.

The scary thing
Metnut : 4/26/2017 10:02 pm : link
is that this is the easy part of the schedule.

One thing for the #4 starter to get hit around... now the bullpen isn't doing well either.

Oh well... let's just win tomorrow please and win a few this weekend.
You're not going to get much to replace Collins with midseason
moespree : 4/26/2017 10:04 pm : link
But I can definitely see him being fired if things don't improve by say June. I didn't think there was any chance of that happening when the season started.

twostepgiants : 4/26/2017 10:04 pm : link
You guys really cant handle a losing streak. Its a 162 season.

The Mets will be 6 out after tonight which basically consists of them being 2-8 in their last 10 and the Nats being 8-2 in last 10.

It happens. Its a long season. nats will have a losing streak and Mets will have a winning streak. No one plays .800 baseball all year and no plays .200 baseball all year.

We just had back to back playoff seasons for the first time in 17 years.

The Mets had huge runs in August and September of both seasons.

he isnt getting fired. At all this year.
why is he

burning up the bullpen against playing matchups when he is 7 runs down?

I'm not sure that I get your point. Are you trying to say being 6 games behind the Nationals isn't a big deal?

It's a long season and the Mets certainly aren't out of it, but not even the most optimistic projections had the Mets finishing 6 games ahead of the Nationals. We've basically went from 50%ish to win the division to 10%ish. That's a disaster of a month. I'd think that anyone who really was a big Met fan would be disappointed and upset.
The Nats
spike : 4/26/2017 10:15 pm : link
are too good to go for a prolonged slump like the Mets have.

We will have to play for the wild card thi s season again.
They should've waited one more day
spike : 4/26/2017 10:16 pm : link
to sen d down Gilmartin.
Neil Walker should get heat

Thats pathetic, but hasn't been as bad as Reyes or Granderson.

If the Mets lose tonight, they’ll be 4-under for the first time since 2014.

Nats coming up in a couple of days. Certainly ominous.

My frustration is more with the make-up of this team than it is the win/loss record. The Nats are probably one of the most consistently good teams in MLB. The Mets are consistently bad more than they are good. By a lot.

I was really hoping that Sandy would have addressed the glaring issues the team had but it seemed like he doubled down on them. Not sure the point of having a top of the league rotation if you are going to have a bottom of the league offense.

This team has a ton of potential and the leadership seems to consistently get the least out of them. Along with not knowing when to "cut the cord", so to speak.

twostepgiants : 4/26/2017 10:48 pm : link
Yes, Im saying its not a big deal. Things tend to even out over the course of the long term.

I really dont care about what the % as those tend to not matter either. A lot of events happened over the last year that people would have said had a very small % chance of occurring.

What were the odds when the Cubs were down 3-1?

The Mets have a solid roster. Harvey/Thor/DeGrom/wheeler/Matz with familia closing, a lineup with Cespedes, Bruce and others will win a lot of games. Walker, Reyes, Granderson wont hit under .200 all year, etc.

Collins has proven he can manage this roster over the course of an entire season through thick and thing and get them to perform at the end when its more important.

This Mets team is good for 90+ wins. This team will be in the hunt in September for the Division and/or the wild card. No doubt.
