and raw is no way to draft.
I'm really undecided on him...great feet but is he worth the #1?

Sammo85 : 4/26/2017 8:50 pm : link
I'd prefer Lamp based on Mayocks mock.

I cant
Steve in Greenwich : 4/26/2017 8:53 pm : link
say I've really watched him at all, but I honestly don't like that his top attribute that I hear when he is talked about is that he plays with a mean streak. Danny Watkins had a massive mean streak that helium-ed him into a pick just like this, but when all the sudden your not playing against guys 4-6 years younger than you, you don't looks so big and bad anymore.
Raanan, Vacchiano & now Mayock...
2ndroundKO : 4/26/2017 8:54 pm : link
all say Bolles. I suspect all three have good sources.
Over Cam??
prdave73 : 4/26/2017 8:55 pm : link
Bolles would be a good 2nd option but i would take Cam 1st.
Not a fan

How do you draft a 6 ft 5 tackle that
Carl in CT : 4/26/2017 8:57 pm : link
Weighs only 290lbs. He will absolutely get no push.
Dave

says Asiata deserves most of the credit, not Bolles. Boles also had a 9 on the Wonderlic. Great feet though.

His top attribute is his athletic ability.

He weighs 297. He'll put on weight in the NFL just like almost all players do. Lane Johnson weighed 303. He's doing just fine for himself.
im fine w

If we take him it's to protect Eli's blind side, and to pull a bit to both sides. He's not gonna be a road grader, but that's OK with me if he can keep Eli clean.
this place is going to go nuts tomorrow

when Bolles is the pick.
...
annexOPR : 4/26/2017 9:07 pm : link
my biggest fear is wasting my time watching the 1st round only to then be disgusted for staying up to watch them draft a mediocre OL prospect

We find out tomorrow night.
Giant John : 4/26/2017 9:08 pm : link
Sweet dreams
Bolles would be disappointing
Floyd_Fan : 4/26/2017 9:08 pm : link
how many teams have 4 first rounders on their OL?

if Eli needs 4 first rounders on the OL to complete a pass, maybe its time to move on. Bolles is not projected help in the run game too much.
The Giants probably like Bolles because they consider Lamp
PatersonPlank : 4/26/2017 9:09 pm : link
and Robinson to be Guards, and because Ram has an injury past. Bolles will put on weight, is athletic, big, and mean. I like him, and a lot of scouts do too. I'm not sure I buy that his success was because of Asiata. Too many other people like the guy, they would have seen this too.

Let Bolles and Flowers battle it out for LT, the loser plays RT.
Again, the trend NOWADAYS is not to re-sign or be able to
Big Blue '56 : 4/26/2017 9:11 pm : link
re-sign your draft picks..If Bolles can step in right away, he will have finished his 5 seasons at age 29..

Given FA, that is fine with me..Years ago, that would have bothered me and it did (Aaron Ross) as I was looking ahead to a second contract. Second contracts with the same team (save for QBs) seems to be the exception, rather than the rule..

His age is no factor for me, other than the positive part of maturity
Bolles Pugh Richburg Fluker Flowers
annexOPR : 4/26/2017 9:14 pm : link
... would be interesting I guess.

I just hate the thought of passing up likely elite defensive talent for a "need", but I've mentally prepared myself for them to reach for a tackle

- just like they did with pugh/flowers

It's amazing, but draft status doesn't actually count in games.

There's no cease and desist on pressures allowed by Flowers and Fluker just because teams (not even the Giants in Fluker's case) took them earlier than the guys embarrassing them.
I wouldn't
cokeduplt : 4/26/2017 9:18 pm : link
Mind if Bolles were the pick at all very athletic should be a good LT.
Everyone seems to be picking him now
jeff57 : 4/26/2017 9:20 pm : link
But I really have to wonder whether the Giants want to draft an OL who got a 9 on the wonderlic.

I just don't think that drafting Bolles fixes Flowers. Just more sunk cost.

what if Bolles is another Flowers? keep drafting OL?
I dont think this guy is the answer
blueblood : 4/26/2017 9:26 pm : link
he's most like a second rounder to me. He is not going to fix the Giants OL.
if hooker slides to 19
Dankbeerman : 4/26/2017 9:38 pm : link
we need to trade up for him. Him playing center feild would make our deffense historic.
Bolles
AcidTest : 4/26/2017 9:40 pm : link
just seems like a reach based too much on need.
According to Sy's grades, Bolles/Cam/Ram/Lamp are all rated
PatersonPlank : 4/26/2017 9:41 pm : link
late first or top of the 2nd round. So picking one of these guys is not a stretch and presents proper value for our spot.
Danny Watkins Part Deux
Sammo85 : 4/26/2017 9:48 pm : link
I don't like Bolles at all. He's not a guy who will help next year. Keep dreaming if you think he can play year one as a T.

Plus he's older. He's a really terrible pick based on a lot of value elsewhere in the draft. A reach and forced pick due to perceived need. Hopefully some stupid team in front of us takes him.
sammo
jtgiants : 4/26/2017 9:50 pm : link
if hes the pick the giants disagree. if they go that route he starts day 1 imo
He has Hooker, Ramczyk and Davis going 19, 20, 21 respectively
Anakim : 4/26/2017 9:52 pm : link
That would so much balls. It would break my heart.

If the board played out like Mayock says, I would go with David Njoku or Jarrad Davis

the best player available due higher grade, then address the OL in later rounds.

better pick then Bolles.
It's problematic when Mayock says a guy who's about to turn 25
shockeyisthebest8056 : 4/26/2017 10:06 pm : link
in a few weeks needs to get stronger. If you look at the Giants' 1st & 2nd round picks the past 5 years, 7 of the 10 were really young guys.

IDK... the age thing and playing only 1 year of D1 ball is really a problem for me.
Bolles is one pick which
Chris L. : 4/26/2017 10:14 pm : link
would really cause me to throw the remote. Old, a project and too light....just what we need, another lineman who can't get push in the run game.

Mayock has this one correct
One Man Thrill Ride : 4/26/2017 10:19 pm : link
in that Bolles is the only OL that the Giants are gonna take in RD1.

Out on Ramczyk and not as high on Cam or the interior guys.

Bolles a likely pick if he's there and Howard is gone. But Thrill suspects they'd take both Jarrad Davis (unpicked) and Adoree (#18 to Tenn) ahead of Garrett.

Thrill,

What is it about Bolles that they like? He just seems like he doesn't fit our mold. I keep hearing about LB was hopeful for a TE and I like Lamp, could live with Robinson but Bolles? Puke!!!
If Bolles is the pick
SHO'NUFF : 4/26/2017 11:37 pm : link
that should be Jerry Reach's last first round pick...ever.
Bolles...

Lane Johnson was a WAAAAAY better prospect than Bolles hence the reason he was drafted 4th overall.

The Danny Watkins comparison is actually a fair comparison.

Above anything, he's put good work on film. All the questions about his age, upside, upper body strength, maturity are fair. On the field, he was an exceptional LT at Utah with top-notch movement skills.

The Giants process involves heavy scouting influence. Atop the draft, they will aggressively rule out players on account of character (Tunsil) and medical (Ramczyk). If Bolles is past all the tomfoolery that put him on the crooked path to Utah (scoring a 9 on the wonderlic doesn;t ease Thrilly's mind), then it's easy to see why the traits and athletic ability he showed on film amount to a 1st rd grade.

Can't explain why they seem down on Cam. Superficially he sure looks like the size/talent/youth/production/experience prospect. Might be a moot point anyway - a few reputable mockers have Cam going 16 to Baltimore, who lost their OT Wagner in free agency and Ozzie Newsome is an Alabama guy.
Not a remote thrower
Heisenberg : 4/27/2017 8:47 am : link
a need pick, if they make it.
I'd feel better about Bolles if Dave Te wasn't so critical of him.
Klaatu : 4/27/2017 8:53 am : link
But, hey, maybe we'll luck out and draft Bolles and Asiata, too. It could happen.

Are you hearing any interest for the 1st rd RBs?
