...they'd take Marino. Obviously the Jets know something that the people up here that, y'know, the people up here don't"
I thank God every day that my father made me a Giants fan. I could have suffered the endless misery some of my uncles and cousins have endured.
One of my best friends tells me all the time: " When I was younger, I rooted for both teams but sometime in middle school I decided I had to choose one. I chose the Jets....Man was that a wrong decision."
2nd is the fans screaming for Sapp and they get a TE!!!
What was interesting though is if you look at that draft, the player the Jets took that Mel Kiper Jr. criticized (Jeff Lagemann) ended up being better than a number of the players selected immediately after him
Lageman was at least a decent player for a long time
He was a reach, but he wasn't a bust. The rest of those jokers were flat-out busts.
Freeman McNeil wasn't a bust. And although Kenny O'Brien obviously didn't have the career Dan Marino did he had a pretty solid career. He made a couple of Pro Bowls and was the AFC player of the year one season. The Jets like everyone else were scared off of Marino by the drug rumors. But agree with everyone else, the rest of their picks are hilarious.

Yup, and later they got Dennis Byrd and Marvin Washington . Not bad for a team that had no idea what it was doing. And the "they could have drafted this guy later" crap never makes any sense to me. Who can say that some other team didn't have the same player in their sights?

I would watch a special two hour long "Football Life" episode on that guy's experiences as a Jet fan alone.
Really good article in last weeks NYDN about this fan, his name is Mike Eisenberg and he's actually a pretty well known PSAL girls basketball coach. There's a current picture of him, he's aged about as well as one could expect for a Jets fan. Link - ( New Window )
Jets select fullback...ooooooo nooooo! Lol

that's my favorite one. I actually loved Roger Vick in college, but knew he was going to suck in the NFL.

that guy is the exact example(looks, hair and outfit) that dies in the early Friday the 13th movies.

No, but he wasn't Dan Marino. Just like Kyle Brady had a nice NFL career but the Jets passed on a HOF defensive lineman for him.

Mel Kiper knocking the Jets is hilarious every time though.
