You are why I can't stand Yankees fans. It was a stupid thing to say by Thor but gloating after 20 games is just stupid. Why are you even on this thread?
I'm just glad the Mets are the only loser team I picked in NY. Could be worse.. some guys are Jets, Mets, AND Islanders fans.
That's why I dont hate the Jets as much as other BBI posters. I'd rather see those guys finally see a winner via the Mets or Islanders, but if the Giants are out of it, I don't root against the Jets.
sounds like inflamation. He probably altered his arm motion imperceptively because of the blister and that led to a slight tear, to which the body responded with the typical immunological reaction that leads to inflamation.
Yeah, I definitely don't hate the Jets as much as I just kind of pity them.
I have a few friends who are Jets fans and are seethingly jealous of the Giants, though.. so they get very obnoxious every time the Giants lose or constantly rail on Beckham's antics, etc. It gets annoying and sometimes I have to give it back to them.
I mean, when you root for a football team that hasn't even played in a Super Bowl in what is closing in on FIFTY years.. you probably shouldn't be shit talking a team with 4 trophies - especially not when 2 of those have come in the last 10 years.
At least the Mets have played in a couple World Series' this millennia even if they lost both.

No big deal imo
Matz didn't seem to think he had any issue, either... players often claim they're "fine" and then it turns into something significant. I hope Noah is right - but it's hard to take his word for it.
Imagine being a Mets, Jets, Islanders, and Knicks fan
For myself the worst thing about the Yankees is simply that they are in the AL with the DH which I dislike. Boneyard that I don't dislike them at all. Mickey Mantle is still one of my all time favorites.

I was impartial to the Jets for most of my life. I didn't root for them to lose and sort of wanted them to do well but obviously not as well as the Giants. That all changed when Rex Ryan came to town and started all his nonsense proclaiming the Jets New York's team.
Guess that concludes the "best start of a season ever"
fingers crossed this is nothing more than a short vacay for Thor.
A. Nobody ever said it was "the best start ever" but nope... his ridiculous start will continue regardless when he pitches again. No conclusion yet...Your douchy snark is always appreciated though!
The Islanders really. Rangers and Mets have each won once in my lifetime.
The Islanders have won precisely one playoff series in the past 24 years. No, the Rangers haven't won a Cup lately, but they've been considerably more successful than the Islanders.

Sure. Im a Rangers fan. I didnt think we were talking about playoff appearances however. The Knicks were in the playoffs every single year in the 90s but we arent talking about participation trophies. I would think with the Islanders championships in the 80s they have just as much right to talk crap as Rangers fans do.
I witnessed 4 consecutive cup victories. I have also witnessed a stretch of crappy play that is absurd.
The Rangers won one cup in my lifetime, but since the 2000s have been consistently good.
Depending on what type of fan you are, one is better than the other. I'm happy I got to watch my team lift the cup (although, admittedly I only remember it once. The first year I was into hockey full force was the last year they won).
Either way, if you consider winning it all the litmus test for success, I'm not sure how either teams fans can be happy.

correction, I witnessed ONE, but I was alive for 4? much better.
RE: RE: Imagine being a Mets, Jets, Islanders, and Knicks fan
The Rangers have played in like 87 playoff games since 2012.
I guess if the hardware is all that counts, no.. they haven't been successful. But they just played in a Stanley Cup Final 3 years ago and have appeared in the Conference Finals 3 times in the last 5 years.
They've finished ahead of the Islanders in the standings for like the last 12 years or something like that. They've been considerably better.
I just think its getting to the point where the Knicks have been a laughing stock for a long time now but they were consistently in the playoffs in the 90s, ect sort of like the Rangers are now.
All good. Im happy with my 4 choices. Never have regretted it. Giants, Mets, Knicks, and Rangers for me for life.
I don't even consider the Knicks a sports team anymore.
That's how fucking embarrassed I am to root for that franchise
lol. Im kind of in the same boat. I try to show interest every year but I just cant keep up to the same levels anymore. In the 90s, the Knicks were legitametely my favorite sports team, over the Mets and Giants even.
If you're a 45+ year old Islander fan and you have actual memories of those Cup seasons? Yeah, that is something you can hang your hat on and it's doubtful you're anything close to envious of Rangers fans.
If you're under 30 and a first round win over the Panthers is the extent of the success you've witnessed? You might be a little less comforted by the dynasty years.
Regarding the Knicks, it's not the lack of a title that hurts. It's being the laughingstock of the league for 15+ years that hurts. If the Knicks had been on a par with the Rangers since 2005, it would rankle that they haven't won a title but I wouldn't be humiliated by it the way I'm humiliated by the Knicks being the biggest joke in professional sports.

Yes, as a 47 year old Isles fan, the early to mid 1980's were more than any fan could ask for (well except for losing to Edmonton in the finals as they were going for their 5th straight cup).
If they managed that, there would not be an argument of who the best hockey team of all time is (and they rank right up there anyway).
Jose Ramirez has been excellent this season. He was once one of the Yankees top prospects but could not harness his control and was moved to the pen by Atlanta. He showed flashes last season and just cracked the Braves roster. He has been their most consistent reliever thus far.
RE: RE: Imagine being a Mets, Jets, Islanders, and Knicks fan
Btw Dan love that you are calling him the "Teebs" now.
The savior needed a proper nickname lol
That really rustled your jimmies, huh?
Now's a good time to post it.

10 year outlook looks great. 1-2 year outlook looks ok. But you really got me with that one, champ.
We're just busting balls over here. So sensitive these days. Geezis.
Whatever, jerks.
LOL, yeah, that's rough. And I know plenty of those guys. Poor souls.

I am pretty close to that sad sports group, as a Mets, Islanders, Knicks fan, and St. John's alum.
Evan Roberts (on WFAN) is a Mets/Jets/Islanders/Nets fan.
And he's a huge sports geek.
The only time one of his teams won a championship, he was 3 years old.

Replace Knicks with Nets and you have Evan Roberts.
At least, Sandy was smart enough not to sign him longterm.
