Look at Sy's review of him. I'd take him at 23 and an OL like Asiata in the 2nd. And Butt isn't a good value in the 3rd with his injury history. A CB there would make more sense given the depth at that position.
Why? If his name wasn't Kelly, he would be undesirable. No familial or sentimental connection to the Giants or staff.
Did he go to the Manning camp and is Eli demanding that he should be his backup?

“I think somebody is going to draft Kelly in the sixth or seventh round and get a really talented kid who, two to three years from now, might compete for a starting job,” Mayock said."
as does Jaws
“Some of the experience with Chad Kelly is not good — the transferring and things like that, off-the-field issues and now you’ve got an injury on top of that,” Jaws told Saturday Down South. “The lineage is good from Jim Kelly as part of the bloodlines, but he was very inconsistent in college. I saw some unbelievable throws that projected well to the NFL, but then I saw some throws that were head-scratchers, some decision-making (issues) and some inaccurate throws.”
All that said, Jaworski still thinks Kelly will go a little bit higher than his current NFL.com projection, which has him listed as a Round 5-6 target.
“I think he’s a guy that, fourth or fifth round, teams will take a chance on and see if he can mature into an NFL quarterback,” he said.
As Jaworski said, Kelly has what it takes athletically to make it in the NFL. In fact, he recently received high marks on his accuracy from ESPN’s Sports Science.
Only reason that might happen would be because of the off-field stuff. On the field he's a 4th-5th rounder easy.
According to ESPN’s Sports Science, Kelly got the highest rating of any quarterback in terms of accuracy in the past six years, even beating out former No. 1 overall pick Jameis Winston:

...in his attempt to rehab from his second torn ACL. But at #87, for a team with so many needs and so many other likely options? Would much rather go CB a round earlier, or maybe WR.
This is the first place I've seen Vallejo mentioned before Round 6. Â
I don't see the fit either. Maybe he's supposed to replace Casillas in a year, since a LB the size of Landon Collins can't really play anywhere else in a 4-3. Has he ever played that position? Looks like a case of, "They need a LB, so I'll give them the next one on my list."

Jaws, he didn't "transfer", he was kicked off the Clemson team for insubordination. He then continued significant off field bad behavior in the south and then back in Buffalo.
He's a "head case". Not what you want for your QB. Up to Jerry whether he wants to roll the dice in the 7th round, but I sure wouldn't.
Dumb as a post with a wonderlic of 9. Undersized, not strong and not an immediate starter.
At 25 not the same potential for growth as a 22 year old and that refers to both weight and strength...neither of which is considered up to NFL ready. Good feet ain't enough
That would be a reach based on need, even the top rated draftees struggle there first year at OLT, particularly one with all these blemishes.
Beyond that the Giant brass says they're commited to another year of waiting for the Flower to bloom.
Usually overwhelmed by what I don't know this one would be a headscratcher.
Unless you count butt as an athletic freak move TE (no one does) Â
The first three picks in this mock buck a 14 year trend. These writers mush don't look at the giants draft day tendencies. Every year they take at least two and sometimes three of DL, DB and WR. Every year. Yet many mocks ignore this.
Look for two of DL, WR and DB within the first three rounds. Why? Because it happens every single year. I'd say you could probably allow for an athletic move TE in there to sort of replace the wr. Maybe.
