not going to be there, but all this chatter makes me believe that they might try and trade up if he's still on the board past Arizona. That would be a mistake, as would taking him at #23.

They'd have to give up next year's number to move up
11 spots. Not happening.
He has thrown more passes than Warren Moon, Vinny Testaverde, Fran Tarkenton...guys that hung around forever.
Operating as though he's near the end is completely reasonable. We also don't know what conversations he's had with the front office about what is envisioned for the rest of his career.
Either way, the truth is things rarely end the way we want in life. Think about Phil Simms and LT in San Francisco. At least the opportunity is still there for the fairy tale ending.

I dont believe it. This is disinformation for a smokescreen

Yeah, a lot of people seem to think that he'll go on 3-5 years at undiminished capacity. And that the day he retires we'll be able to draft a QB able to start and perform on day one.
EA always said if you have conviction about a franchise QB, you go get
that the Giants should draft a QB BEFORE Eli retires so that he can back Eli up a year or two. I just don't believe the Giants should spend a FIRST round pick this year on one. I think they should wait until this year.
RE: EA always said if you have conviction about a franchise QB, you go get
If Reese thinks Mahomes is that guy, then I wouldn't be surprised with a trade up if he gets into the mid teens
I replied on the other thread but since the discussion has moved I'll re-post here:
Yeah but when do you give up on a QB on your roster that has already proven to be a franchise QB and gamble the teams future going for another one?
EA had it a little easier in that he didn't really have a franchise QB on the roster so it was worth trading for a guy that he was convinced was just that.
Mahomes is a lot more attractive than many of the guys people talk about next year. Big arm. Has Jameis Winston's fearlessness...def reminds me of Favre.
I said it before, if everybodyvknows next year is going to so rich as far as quarterbacks, there are a lot of teams that are going to want one. If we have a good season it might cost a ton more than it would next year. This might be the year to sneak up and grab that guy that they think has "it". Big arm, brash and mobile sounds okay to me.
I don't know if McAdoo has proven that he should be allowed to make that type of call. If they make this type of trage there had better be others on the organization that were pushing for this before Mcadoo.

could it be webb? chicago gave up a ton to get thier QB im not advocating a huge trade up (as i think wait till next year the QB draft is much better next year) if they make like bandits this year could give up multiple picks next year
but if they think the guy to replace manning is there but it may be possible to move up to the top of round 2 if they like webb enough? niot sure what the price for a move that high would be thou.
i want garcia in round 2 or a trade up for lamp possibly as OL is a huge need or hope a DT falls to them and go OG in round 3 and hope the OT they have get it done which is very risky especially with the pass rushers everyone in the division just drafted which is why i want garcia in round 2
love the engram pick he was one of the matchup nightmare TE this offence has been crying out for (want him, njoku or shaheen in round 2) now they need to improve the run and pass blocking with 2 OL ideally in the next 3 or 4 picks ideally an OT and OG
Just concerned they might go all in to trade up if the coach is claiming he has that kind of love for him
They'd have to give up next year's number to move up

There's belief Arizona might go WR.

Considering.

I don't think you understand how this works.

Well that settles that.
We can go for it....Even if we go QB in the 1st.....But if we need to commit several picks for the QB of the future......
I suspect he is more the current Qb

I can't remember a time you've been wrong, so I'm going to cling to this.
Great article. Thanks. Very informative.

What does that mean? Yes or no we want Mahomes?
