Allen's arthritic shoulder is a concern while Taco and Barnett are high effort guys lacking in quick twitch/explosion.
I do hope we add a competent non-project OL at some point tomorrow night though.
They're pretty much all project OL though. Even 'can't miss' LT's normally sit for a bit and there's no one near that description. Maybe Lamp is the closest to a plug and play guy.
Got way scarier on defense with Allen. They'll line him up all over the line and he'll be a matchup nightmare for alot of teams right out of the gate. I hate how this guy, arguably the best player in college football, just fell right in their laps.
Taco is by far the least impressive looking of the three. I see nothing in his game right now that pops out other than his size. Then again Rod Marinelli is the defensive genius to show him how to unlock his full potential.
makes the giants so much better on offence they finally have that difference maker TE that dallas and washington had for last few years which they havent. they do need that OT more than ever thou the rest of the division is looking to exploit that giants OL now and drafted players they look to do that with
is added to our 3 wr teams will have to rush 4. just imagine how many times tye caught the ball with room to run o ly to pick up an extra few yards. give engram a step he can take it to the house. Huge difference in checkdown options.
Are using high picks on positions they've already spent resources on both draft and FA. Neither have much talent in their secondary but are using their #1 picks to shore up their DL where they already spent high picks and FA dollars. They're treading water.
With OBJ, Marshall, Engram, SS, and Perkins it is pick your poison in the passing game. If you overcommit to that then we will take yards running the ball. Ellison is a better blocking option than we had last year even if it means that Marshall, Engram, or SS will be out that play because you can only have a max of 5 eligible receivers.
taking a man like Allen with arthritis in both shoulders, in thr first round, no less, is sheer stupidity, imv..They will NEVER get better, only worse. A shoulder replacement would do wonders, but he's certainly not getting one while he's playing..
Extremely stupid pick. But then again, it's the Skins

A guy who many projected as going in the top 3 and slips to 17 without character issues, signals to me, a strong concern about his arthritic shoulders..
Arthritis doesn't go away and it doesn't improve. At best, it can be managed. Somehow, playing DL in the NFL seems like a less than ideal environment for the management of arthritis in the shoulders.
fall because of concerns about arthritis or other long-term conditions. It's not uncommon at this point. Some end up playing well, many either end up never hitting their potential or having a shortened career due to injuries and wear & tear. Allen is a great talent, could be a steal for the Skins, or maybe not...
A ton of DE's get picked in the 1st 1-2 rounds each year, and opposing fans always worry that the guy will terrorize their team for years...Most don't. Unlikely all 3 guys pan out to be consistent pains for us, but you never know. I actually don't mind the picks - I think Phi needed an O playmaker of DB more actually, and should have been able to snag at least a quality CB. Dallas has holes on D also, DB and DL - good add for them, but more of a 2nd tier guy. But we still need to shore up our OL too, so hope they grab one - just can't be too stuck on 'we need this position in this round' - need to see how things fall. I actually think the board has fallen out OK for the Giants so far - historical few OL have gone, so they should have a good shot at an OT in Rd 2. While we maybe didn't get the best day 1 TE, we got a guy who does the more important part (receiving) well and could be a matchup nightmare. Needs to be a better blocker, but hopefully can be coached up there.

And Taco is Taco. We'll see if he lives up to his potential.
I like Engram, but WAS made out better than anybody so far.
Allen looks like the steal of the draft thus far.
Allen was a good pick
Barnett is an undersized slow "pass rusher", glad Philly took him

Tend to agree, but they have the potential to produce, and wreak havoc. We need to address that with OL, preferably tonight.

its a direct attack on our front office and Mr. Mannings health and wellbeing
we may need to adjust our play calling and style in a major way, (in addition to my miopic rants/advice about the line personel).
LMFAO
Let's not go overboard here.
