Corey Davis going at 5.
Allen and Foster dropping out of the top of the round.
Both Barnett and Conley going as high as they did.
And the Falcons trading up for Takk seemed like a weird move.
Bears getting FLEECED by San Fran was a huge surprise
There was another team trying to trade up with SF, this is one of the worst draft day moves I have ever seen. They might have given up all those picks for a guy they could have gotten at three.
They end up with no picks last night, but will have SIX picks tonight. WOW
They obviously felt that they could still get who they wanted by trading down and, outside of Ramczyk, I am not sure of anyone who went after their original pick last night that might have been on their radar

Some did not surprise me. I was part of a mock draft for the first round that ultimately will receive a Top 15 grade in THR's competition, and our group of amateurs correctly predicted the fall of Allen to the Redskins (we took seriously the medical red flag) and we actually had Foster out of our first round completely (which nearly happened). Barnett had received some buzz for both Chicago and Cincinnati so seeing him at 14 really doesn't surprise me. Also not surprised by Atlanta trading up for Takk. I personally don't like McKinley, but the Falcons wanted a pass rusher and if they thought that there was a big drop after McKinley I could see why they wanted to jump ahead of a few teams. Pittsburgh could have potentially taken McKinley at 30th overall if he was there. The other items you mentioned really surprised me.
Conley goes, Cook and Mixon are avoided. I thought Cook and Mixon had a higher upside AND less downside. Conley can be charged with a felony and miss years.
2. Allen Dropping.
3. Howard not going in the top ten..that's a real puzzler. It could be argued he and Allen were the second and third best player in the draft.
Not surprised the QBs were taken, but I was surprised
Which teams(not including Houston) took them, and how much compensation was given up by all of them. It tells me that this QB class wasn't as weak as we thought.
San Francisco had several offers from teams wanting to move up. So if Chicago didn't trade up, they wouldn't have got the guy they wanted.
Criticize the player all you want, I'm probably in the same boat, bjt if you're convinced that the kid is going to be special, you do whatever it takes to get him.
I have no problem with what Chicago did, but only time will tell if they player they loved is any good.
also was surprised by Davis and McCaffrey going that high and to CAR
Fleeced? If anyone else trades up to take Trubisky in front of them and that was the rumor that was going to happen. If you feel Trubisky is a franchise QB then a 3rd, 4th this year and a 3rd next year is nothing. In fact I will say if Trubisky turns out to be a stud... SF is the ones who will end up fleeced because they passed on a good QB which was a major need for 3 extra lower round players.
I think Chicago was extremely smart if they thought Trubisky was big time then you don't mess around in the draft. Pennies to make sure they got their man.
What Houston and KC gave up? Firsts next year... Not liking that all. That is top dollar right there.

Risky but better than who the Eagles and Dallas.
Words like frantic, irrational and hysterical come to mind.
Like a kid getting chased by a bee.

Agreed, Great moves.
