They also discuss how the rest of the NFC East did.

outside zone runs
idiotsavant : 4/28/2017 10:10 am : link
must be part of the plan here, players like Marshal and Engram would/should be able to block D backs and even some linebackers.....if we can get Perkins to the edge -quick enough- before the interior collapses, you might have something.

the FA TE can help in this regard as well as an inline blocker.

I am still not sold, though, on this lines ability to keep a pocket clean though for less-than-mobile Manning, long enough, often enough, on simple pure pass plays to justify having no interior run ability.

If you think about it -- this is the same line blocking for Eli when he attempted Donnell with his third most receiving targets, and Tye with his 4th most receiving targets - and what did they do with thse opportunities -- Donnell became a frikken joke and Tye's ceiling was his first year and he regressed from there

Just based on targets alone Engram represents an improvement to those guys, a huge upgrade - where Adams and LaCosse have really not even been able to make it on the field -- he has supper hands and super speed, and shake; he's a TD maker as well as being very physical -- so I don't know what it is you're not buying, but the stuff in your pantry has already expired

FROM DAVE TE-ENGRAM
nflscouting : 4/28/2017 10:43 am : link
I should have his full scouting report posted later today when I get to the complex. I first must go to confession. I am in Boston and spent the draft yesterday at a childhood friend's rectory (priest, hey, I need all the help I can get to convince the Big Guy I'm good for a cloud instead of sunburn in a later life). Well, when Chicago pulled the trade, I was surprised, figuring they wanted Solomon Thomas. When they said Trubisky, I used the full-worded version of WTF. No lightning bolt from above, but I was cutting it close.
It might cost me a corvette also. I bet my son that if Jerry did what I was begging - pass on conventional wisdom & grab Engram in round one - that I would go out on the street & do the jig. Well, I might have to give my son one of my prized cars from my collection, as he filmed it & was threatening to put it on facebook.
ENOUGH FUNNY STUFF-IF I WAS JERRY REESE
Today, I look to grab OL help & if Dion Dawkins slides in round 2, he could be very enticing. In round three, praying Bama's Ryan Anderson is still available, as I feel he offers two values - a great SOLB alternative & one I can also stack on the line in pass rush opportunities
ditto

.
as dave says
idiotsavant : 4/28/2017 11:06 am : link
2. OL
3. LB? or DT
4. DT or Center
5. DT - gigantic nose type
6. RB
7. Corner
As odd as it may sound from this pick......
Tom [Giants fan] : 4/28/2017 11:08 am : link
the run game just got better. Teams will have to sit back and fear the pass against the Giants. This should open up some room for the running backs. Play action will be huge whether Eli hands the ball off or keeps it to throw downfield.

Thanks Dave for all of your shared information and analysis, but most of all for your sense of humor. You have been killing me with your jokes. Too funny. Always go for the funny. Never change. =8^D

I just took my '65 Vette out of storage in update NY yesterday afternoon - what's in your collection?

Also, do you think PK from ASU, Zane Gonzales, will be drafted? Should Giants look at him in the 6th?
could this be the first time since forever
djm : 4/28/2017 12:38 pm : link
that the Giants don't take WR, DL and DB within the first 3 rounds? Even if you want to call Engram a WR type, that's fair, I think they might take OL in rounds 2 or 3. And RB could be picked too.

Could be a big shift this year.
Spot on with the comments

I too, approve of Engram. Along with needs stated in the second and third rounds. Sit tight and see who comes to them in the 2nd
Audio problems...
trueblueinpw : 4/28/2017 1:00 pm : link
The audio recording problems you have, the clicks and pops and warble are probably from the computer you're using to record the audio and not from the cell phone service. If you guys have any budget at all for the recording you should give the guys at Sam Ash a call to find out what equipment will help you produce a quality podcast. I know there's some guys here other than me who also record podcast that would probably have recommendations. I can ask my engineer for a list of our equipment we use on our show if that's helpful but I know we leaned heavily on Sam Ash for getting us set up.

The podcast is GREAT addition to BBI. Content is terrific, great work fella's! Very much appreciated.
Thank you Sy and Dave

Looking forward to the next one. Really guys thank you very much for doing that!

Mental note for Dave: Don't hang out with your Paster during the NFL Draft. That was funny Dave! :)

Thanks -- I was afraid of that -- but it does appear to have more crackle from Sy and I than from Dave Te -- so I'm wondering if it has something to do with our phone mics

We are calling into Tapeacall - and app on my iphone -- not into or from a computer

As many old timers on this site will tell you, especially those I bumped into annually at the draft, when I went out to the public with my stuff years ago, it was with the intent of letting people enjoy & have fun with the draft process.

I love the banter back & forth & Sy does a very good job of analyzing things. I'm on to give insights, but a little brevity here & there makes the whole process easy on the ears. Otherwise, I'd have to use the daft (sic) expert line, "my sources indicate..." get a bad hairdo and make an insomniac fall asleep listening

All told, 23 vettes, six are 63 split windows, 11 are Lingenfelters, including the first one ever built - a 95 with 1210HP. It's going to be my coffin, wanna be buried in it. Where I'm going. I want a car that can get me the hell outta there!

AUDIO ISSUES
nflscouting : 4/28/2017 2:32 pm : link
First, thanks Mike for doing them. Second, it was a last minute thing, no time to play fancy pants with equipment. All of us are linked via phone & the last 2, I was in the basement of a stadium.
Like one said - think of it as putting on an old 33RPM. I could just tell Mike to can it, if it bothers you guys, or just ask to listen to the content.
Besides, I think it adds character to the show - 3 guys that love the Giants, care for BBI readers & are trying our F###king best to give you folks something/something a little extra.
I'm not Trump, can take criticism, but if you only knew the trouble & effort Mike put forth on an idea that popped into my head to ask, "hey, you guys to pods" & have him as a neophyte get three shows on already, well, you can't see me (John Cena line? Must be because I'm in Boston), but I'm giving Mike a standing "O" & to borrow a WWE fan saying, if I had to judge the job he's done on such short notice "this is awesome"
Wow.

On top of all this BBI content, 23 Vettes, Dave? Multiple Ligenfelters?

You are a true American hero, Sir. My new one anyway.

C6 or C7 in the barn? Do any IMSA weekends in the Vette Corral?
Thanks Dave,
RollBlue : 4/28/2017 3:46 pm : link
23 Vette's - that's amazing. Mine's just a plain Jane 327/300, but she still runs great! I wanted a '65 'cause that's the year I was born. Got it back in '95.

Personally, I would like to see the Giants take a stab at a good kicker late in the draft - assuming one is still there.

No, haven't been to any shows. Everything is slowly getting out of six-year storage. When the wife first got sick & we had to travel all over the country for surgeries & treatments, they stood silent on the ranch in Arizona. After she passed, I moved back here & have broken a few out of mothballs, but for some reason, I seem to prefer the lingenfelters & my 67 vette the best. shoot me an email & I'll send you some pictures.
Yeah, only Chevys, on GT500 for me. Wife was a traitor-drew a honda SUV, the commie!
I doubt that any fan site has the professional insight

that we are given by Sy'56 & DAVE TE. Thank you gentlemen as you make the Draft even more exciting giving us your inside info to the team we all love!
Thanks Mick
nflscouting : 4/28/2017 5:32 pm : link
We try. Hey, the pods new here & we will iron out the kinks. Sort of a test drive, but if you never get behind the wheel, we would not learn. Like I say, I'm old dog, so sounding like a scratchy 33RPM, I'm okay with it, as the effort was there on Mike's part & I tell you, it's been fun clamoring & jabbering with Sy. Reminds me of the old crew at the drafts, nothing finer
Car question to Dave
mrvax : 4/28/2017 5:58 pm : link
Are any of those '63 Vettes sporting a 427?
Dave Te to MRVax
nflscouting : 4/28/2017 6:40 pm : link
No the 327s. I thought the 427s hit the market in 1966?
All but the two convertibles were manufactured in St Lou, three with dual double barrel for 300 HP. The splits are both manual and are REs.
THe lingenfelters are the freaks. The 1995 was his first one & has freaking mind warbling speed. Here's the stuff Mecum gave me when I won the car. Right now & I've had it close to a decade, it has 16,315. It's my funeral car, getting buried in it. I know where I'm going when I die & I need a fast car to get me the "hell" out of there;

THE 1995 CORVETTE LINGENFELTER

This 1995 Lingenfelter Corvette convertible was one of just six developed by Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE for short) in Decatur, Indiana, and is the only vehicle with automatic transmission from that group. This corvette was originally owned by a General Motors executive and has only 16,000 miles since stepping off the assembly line in 1995.
The VIN# is IG1YY22PXS5113700.

This beautiful and powerful car comes with a clean Carfax and Autocheck report. This car is loaded with all the options. This is not your average 1995 Corvette by any means. The original LT1 Power plant produced 345 hp from the factory. Then this car was sent to Lingenfelter for a 510 hp LT1 engine package done in the fall of 1998. LPE confirmed the upgrades were:

Engine removal, inspection and disassembly
Lingenfelter CNC ported & polished LT1 cylinder heads
Stainless steel 2.00" intake valves
Stainless steel 1.56" exhaust valves
Lingenfelter double valve springs, titanium retainers, 10 degree locks & seals
Three angle valve job, checking of spring tensions and heights
Lingenfelter designed Competition Cams hydraulic roller camshaft
Ported and polished LT1 intake manifold
Competition Cams High Tech stainless steel full roller rocker arms - 1.6:1 ratio
58 mm aluminum throttle body
LPE engraved throttle body cover
Professional installation, testing and tuning
Stainless steel exhaust by Corsa
Lingenfelter modified air box lid and K&N air filter
Chassis dyno testing after installation
Automatic transmission shift improvements and higher stall torque converter.

After this car came back from Lingenfelter, it was sent to DFI, Digital Fuel Injection Company and they did a fuel program into the EMC. This allows more gas to be injected. Do a 20 mph roll on and hit the gas and you will be enlightened! The car is near perfect in every way and is complete with two tops – one, a black hardtop and the other, a clear glass top. The back area has attachments to store the top, when you want to use the vehicle as a convertible.

The Black paint is in great condition and has great luster with no imperfections to be found, still retaining its pristine luster. This car still looks new. The interior is immaculate. The black leather power seats are in excellent shape with no wear or holes. All gauges are in good working order. The tilt, leather wrapped steering wheel has no wear to it. The dash, door panels and carpet all look great. The A/C is in good working order and blows cold. The factory AM/FM/CD player sounds great and works with no problems. The interior is clean.

The motor is in very clean condition and runs like a scalded dog! It is a LTI 350 cu in 5.7 liter V8 attached to a smooth shifting automatic transmission with shifter in the center column. This Vette starts right up with a turn of the key with no hesitation. On the road the car performs effortlessly and handles great. On the road this car performs like a champ. It handles and drives like a new car and corners and stops on a dime.

The 17” custom Fiske forged chrome wheels are in excellent condition and are wrapped with 335/35 ZR17 radials in the rear and 245/45 ZR17 radials in the front. There is no curb rash showing. All tires have lots of tread life left.
