I'm guessing 49ers convinced the Bears that they were seriously considering a deal with Cleveland and squeezed an extra pick or two out of them. Can't blame the Bears (compared to other recent trades for QBs, they didn't give up much) and the 49ers did a hell of a job getting their guy (Thomas) and some extra picks.

Lynch mentioned Foster was #3 on their board and Thomas was #2. Even if you don't agree with their board, they got their #2 at 3 and #3 in the 20's. Amazing draft so far.

That D-Line sets up nice to build a team around.

Nice way to start your career as a GM.

Agree if Mitchell Trubiaky turns out to be a franchise QB no one will remember or care that they gave up two third round picks

If we're talking an Andrew Luck type, then I'd be less concerned given up that to get that type of QB. But to give up that much to move 1 spot to get Trubisky, if I'm a Bears fan then the remote is not the only thing in my house that gets broken lol.

Tubitzky isn't john Elway. That's what. He's played 13 games. Sounds more like Mark Sanchez to me. I personally didn't think that any of the QBs wer 1st round material. Time will tell.

the 49ers thought the Bears were going Solomon. From my understanding they were working trades for teams to come up for Trubisky. Chicago then offered the trade to move down 1 spot and they thought the Bears wanted Solomon. They were excited because they move down 1 pick and they could still get a huge asking price for Trubisky. It was going to be a bonus for them to pick up 2 3rds and a 4th AND get the big trade for Trubisky. However when Chicago went Trubisky the 49ers lost their mega trading power. Only offers they were getting were for teams to jump Jacksonville for Fournette, but if it wasn't the mega deal that Trubisky could bring they weren't passing on Solomon their #2 player. People keep saying the Bears got fleeced, but I am curious if SF would have taken that deal if they knew Chicago was going Trubisky or went with one of the mega deals to fall further down.
