Today Giants should work the trenches

Chuckstar : 4/28/2017 10:00 am
OL and DT.

Rnd 2 - DT Wormley, Tomlinson
OL Dawkins, Moton, Feeney, Robinson (likely gone)

Rnd 3 - DT Adams, Ogunjobi, Watkins
OL D. Johnson, Garcia, R. Johnson, Bisnowaty

I'm kinda torn between Moton and Dawkins with G/T versatility in round 2. Seems to me there will be better DT value in round 3 than OL. Just prognosticating at this point, but we'll see how pick 33-54 go.
Agree, but

you should add edge rusher in the mix. Maybe Jordan Willis, Ryan Anderson, Tyus Bowser, etc. Must keep the pressure going and be able to spell JPP and OV
I think they should work the frankfurter factory line

One of the big boys will go in rd 2 and in rd 3 we all know Jerry will reach for potential edge guy.
I was hoping for a playmaker in the first round.

O-Line help in the second (OG/RT-type), D-Line help in the third (preferably a DT, not a DE/ER). We'll see how things shake out. A DB is always a possibility.

Agree....

but I would not eliminate a DE or LB who can rush the passer from consideration.
I would seriously consider trading up to get Cam

Pull a Collins deal like last year

Hey, Jimmy.

Normally I'd agree with you re the pass-rushing LB, however I think that the loss of Hankins will push DT to the forefront.

Might cost a 3rd to move that high. Is it worth it when you might be able to get Moton or Feeney at #55?
What about the OT from

Harvard that Dave-Te is so high on? (Sorry, I can't remember his name.)

Max Rich.
Agree.
old man : 4/28/2017 11:07 am : link
We need to replace Hank with a guy that can put on a pass rush, and need to use a 2 or 3 to evolve the OL.
In a strong D draft, and 2 DTs, 2 DEs, and 4 OL with 80+ scores per Sy still on the board, I hope there's a run on WRs, RBs, and secondary guys to jack up our odds for a 80+ per above.
Me: I go OL.
We
Mr. Nickels : 4/28/2017 11:09 am : link
NEED a DT and an olineman today. Simple as that.

If we get both we leave the draft with all our needs filled.

Not a 3rd since we also need a DT. However I would do a fourth

Hey, my man. I would not be disappointed with DT.

I am just on a big "athletic" kick for the Gmen right now and have a slightly bigger affinity for LB need, especially with Goodson being much more of run stopper than anything and maybe that helps with loss of Hankins.

Well, you know I have a man-crush on Tyus Bowser, but I think he'll be gone by #55 anyway. Dave Te has been all about Ryan Anderson lately, and I think Duke Riley could be a real possibility.

Still, I think it's more likely the Giants do what they usually do with LBs - look for them on Day 3. With DTs, they're more likely to draft them on Day 2.
either will be a close call pick wise or we find mid round gold on
idiotsavant : 4/28/2017 11:23 am : link
bigs - which this staff has yet to do, so...

I am hopeful for the large DT / Nose contingent, look at Snacks draft position, for example.

Thanks, Klaatu.
I like the Bowser over the guys as well. He is a bit of a risk
Jimmy Googs : 4/28/2017 11:25 am : link
but the explosive athleticism is clearly there. Those other two LBs are more rigid.

To me if Giants feel their guy is ripe for the taking early in second round, then I would give up 3rd and move up.

Its not like 3rd round has been our bread n' butter....

BlackburnBalledOut : 4/28/2017 12:13 pm : link
may be available, robinson and lamp will likely go in the top of the round.

walker or bowser for defense
No hurry to pick DT. Keep getting impact players
Ivan15 : 4/28/2017 1:17 pm : link
I don't think Reese is pressed to draft DT because there are free agents out there and more will show up as teams cut to make cap room for rookies.
I want
KerrysFlask : 4/28/2017 5:01 pm : link
Willis or Wormley in the 2nd, or I'd accept Robinson or Lamp if they miraculously fell that far.

Foreman or OL in the 3rd.

Got to expect a DT with one of these picks.

I agree. I'd put DE & OL & CB over a DT right now.
or
KerrysFlask : 4/28/2017 5:10 pm : link
with all the CB talent left on the board, something nice should fall to the 3rd. Witherspoon from Colorado, maybe?
