Beer Man : 4/28/2017 10:31 am
I know, how dare I start a Yankees thread in the middle of the NFL draft hoopla. But some good / expected news: Didi to make his first start of the season tonight. Gary Sanchez to start his AAA rehab assignment Monday. With a little luck the team could be back to full strength soon.

I like Torreyz bat and Romine has been great with the staff. Girardi needs to find ways to get these guys playing time.

That's the unheralded thing with this team. With Hicks/Torreyes/Romine/Carter they have a superb bench when healthy. Almost unheard of in this day where teams keep so many pitchers.

I don't think that will be an issue. Didi will almost certainly need regular days off for at least a month or two to make up for the long layoff.

In addition, you really can't run a C out there for more than 130 games without wearing them out. In Sanchez's case, putting Romine behind the plate and letting Sanchez DH for 30-40 times a year is not a bad idea. Someday in the near future, the Yanks will be a contender regularly- and they will need to plan to have Sanchez fresh in October.
Always interested in Yankee news.

I don't believe our triple A team is paying Monday. Think it's Tuesday so Sanchez is waiting another day. Heard it on ESPN/Kay show.

this on yesterday's thread. They are 4-0 against lefties this season. What an improvement.
people are really getting carried away with Romine
Greg from LI : 4/28/2017 11:31 am : link
He's already stopped hitting. It was nice that he was hot for a little while, but nothing in his track record suggests that was sustainable.

I think you are right. He was originally slated to begin rehab assignment on Monday with a A team, I believe. Instead, they want him to rehab with SWB, so he gets pushed to Tuesday.

Those were some good pitches that Judge laid off. His discipline this year is incredible.
And they pitch around him!

That was not near a strike - very high. Would like to see a replay of that pitch.

they ruled that Bird swung and, on replay, unfortunately that looked correct.
I like it.
bigbluehoya : 4/28/2017 10:28 pm : link
Now you play the last 3 innings in reverse order.

Chap, Dellin, Clippard. Warren finishes game if we're here for a long time.
I love this team.
