I know, how dare I start a Yankees thread in the middle of the NFL draft hoopla. But some good / expected news: Didi to make his first start of the season tonight. Gary Sanchez to start his AAA rehab assignment Monday. With a little luck the team could be back to full strength soon.

That's the unheralded thing with this team. With Hicks/Torreyes/Romine/Carter they have a superb bench when healthy. Almost unheard of in this day where teams keep so many pitchers.
I don't think that will be an issue. Didi will almost certainly need regular days off for at least a month or two to make up for the long layoff.
In addition, you really can't run a C out there for more than 130 games without wearing them out. In Sanchez's case, putting Romine behind the plate and letting Sanchez DH for 30-40 times a year is not a bad idea. Someday in the near future, the Yanks will be a contender regularly- and they will need to plan to have Sanchez fresh in October.

down to Bird!
Those were some good pitches that Judge laid off. His discipline this year is incredible.
That was not near a strike - very high. Would like to see a replay of that pitch.

they ruled that Bird swung and, on replay, unfortunately that looked correct.
Chap, Dellin, Clippard. Warren finishes game if we're here for a long time.

Right. Thank God for Tanaka last night.
It's nice to have him back.
