the right move for Chicago? Who is he going to throw to?
Could be

he wasn't picked to win a SB this year, they will build around him and draft WRs.
Still waiting for Kevin White to see the field

It's a shame he's been injured so much because he's extremely talented

But Glennon's contract is pretty much a one-year deal. They're paying him a lot of money, but the contract is not a commitment like many think.
Trubisky - the smart move for the Bears?

Yes I think so

You need to get a franchise QB to win a Super Bowl (usually). I think Trubisky is that. I think he is the only guy in this draft that I have a degree of certainty in saying that, also. Even though I like Mahomes and Watson, I think they are both riskier propositions.

They must have really loved him because it's not like they're desperate for a QB after signing Glennon. If it was a team like Houston or the Jets, that's a different story. That looks like desperation. This feels like a team falling in love with a player and doing whatever it took to get him.

They should have waited to get a QB next year.
As for who he'll throw to this year...
Big Blue Blogger : 4/28/2017 1:45 pm : link
...probably scout-team guys like Daniel Braverman. I doubt they will rush Trubisky into action.

They did sign Kendall Wright and Markus Wheaton, who are decent when healthy. The secret weapon is Rueben Randle.
maybe but only 13 games
msh : 4/28/2017 1:54 pm : link
they dont even know what he really is yet and the trade up was dumb beyond belief 1 for even trading at all and 2 for what they gave up for 1 spot
I like Trubisky's talent

(accuracy, underrated athleticism) but Chicago is a bad fit for him IMO. I don't think he has a good enough arm for December games in Soldier Field.
Maybe I'm totally behind when it comes to current QB contracts

But why sign Mike Glennon to a $45M deal, with $19 million guaranteed, when the ultimate plan was to give up half your draft to get what you think is a franchise QB?
Only time will tell

Cameron Meredith is a young talented WR

and part of the reasoning behind letting Alshon walk. If Kevin White can stay on the field they have the makeup of a good young athletic WR duo.

Even if another team had traded in front of the Bears and took Trubisky, Mahones would still be there and IMHO will be the better of the two QBs. It wasn't worth what they gave up.
