How about a RB?

TC : 4/28/2017 1:17 pm
I was a little surprised that Cook didn't go somewhere in the first round, though based on available talent, it's a close call. And it's also possible that his off-field concerns weigh more heavily among NFL front offices than we know. But I expect he and several other RB's should slot somewhere in round two.

However, I have a gut feeling that the Giants aren't anxious to take a RB high, and I don't expect them to seriously consider one until the mid or late rounds, or if they can't get the value they want at the pick, looking at UDFA's as they interviewed several players who will likely slot there.

I frankly think next year's draft may be even better for RB, but on the other hand, there are some significant talents still on the board, and if they slide far enough, they become compelling options.

Sure

If Cook and Kamara are there when we pick, I would highly consider them. Cook would be #1 on my list if not for the off-the-field issues and the injuries.
A Late Round or UDFA I Hadn't Looked at Before.

Tion Green, Cincinnati. He's, big, a plugger, but tough, with decent vision and one-cut ability.

Which team will take him????
I hope

It's us.
Jeremy McNichols in the 4th
adamg : 4/28/2017 1:44 pm : link
I like that dude.

De'Veon Smith in the 6/7th.

Or Joe Williams in the 5/6th

I like Kamara, but I think we get a lot more value out of an OL and/or a DL and/or an ER today.
I like McNichols too.
TC : 4/28/2017 1:50 pm : link
But after reading Sy's review, I went back a looked at more of Kareem Hunt, and he looks like a steady, tough RB that can do a lot of what the Giants need to get done.
Hmmmnnn....

As a Michigan guy I love De'Veon, but honestly his skill-set is remarkably similar to Darkwa's. Assuming the Giants do pick up a between-the-tackles/short yardage bake like Blount, I'd rather pick a RB in this draft who can spell Vereen (or replace him when he inevitably gets injured). Someone who can help in the underneath passing game.
Kamara
RAIN : 4/28/2017 1:54 pm : link
in the 2nd. Foreman/Mack in the 3rd. James Connor much later. There are lots of guys still around. Agree we need to add talent.

If we don't go there we OL/DT/Edge/CB.. which we have needs too. I'm confident we will get a guy that can play this year.

Unless Kamara falls though.. I don't think we consider it.. and go Tomlinson at DT or Lamp/Dawkins/Moton on the OL, Cunningham will be there, doubt Bowser will at LB. Lot's of good options!
Don't think we should go RB if

a good o-line guy is available. I'd love for Lamp to fall to us but that's probably just a dream.

Sorry, I worded that wrong. I don't think we should go RB in round 2 or 3 even if a good OL guy is not available.

Perine in the 3rd. A lineman, either side, in the 2nd.

Agree: if Blount is on the table, Smith would be off the table.
would think cook
hitdog42 : 4/28/2017 2:05 pm : link
at the Rb.

i do like kamara personally quite a bit.
I'd guess either OL or DL in the 2nd also.

I'd really like them to pick Perrine but I don't think he makes it past the third round if not Joe Williams is the man !

Another guy with breakaway speed, 4.41 speed. If he drops to the 5th...
Are we giving up
5BowlsSoon : 4/28/2017 2:11 pm : link
On Paul Perkins and Orleans Darkwa?
My guy
Amtoft : 4/28/2017 2:19 pm : link
is Elijah Hood. If we get one guy in the draft I really hope it is him. I also really would like DE Hunter Dimick if the draft gods wouldn't mind!
Not on Perkins,
TC : 4/28/2017 2:21 pm : link
but Darkwa despite some very impressive runs hasn't been able to contribute very much despite being given opportunities, and he also has a problem staying on the field.

I really like Perkins, but I don't think think he can carry the load alone, and I see Vereen as a complimentary RB. They need to add more talent.
I would love Perine or Kareem Hunt in the third or Jamaal Williams in
Anakim : 4/28/2017 2:34 pm : link
the fourth
I also like
geemanfan : 4/28/2017 3:08 pm : link
Perine in round 3 or Conner in round 5
If he is available at 55 Mixon
MasherJints : 4/28/2017 3:52 pm : link
He is the best RB in the draft. Equal to McCaffrey 2" taller and better between the tackles. He is this years Bell and will make the Giants O skill positions equal to or better than any in the NFL. Mixon on the Giants makes the O beastly.
Well, hardly anyone can argue that Mixon isn't beastly.
TC : 4/28/2017 4:02 pm : link
The problem is that he's a bomb self-primed to detonate in the NY sports media marketplace.

Or any team in that plays in that marketplace. He'd be the gift that keeps on giving.

Smith was a good college player but I just don't see his game translating well to the NFL. Seriously lacking athleticism for a rb.
I'm sticking with Foreman
KerrysFlask : 4/28/2017 4:52 pm : link
I've previously said I would take him in in the 2nd, but with all the talent that's still there, I think he'll be there in the 3rd.
We'll get our running back tomorrow.

He has since been a model citizen. We need to focus on onfield talent rather than political correctness.

I would offer one caveat, if woman want equality yet preferential treatment they should think before physically challenging a male. Not all males will allow a physical affront of disrespect go unchallenged. Especially when we consider the youth of today's society who show little respect for their parents much less elders. So why would women who choose to miss it up with them expect any different.

I suspect you're deliberately trying to be provocative, but statements like "So why would women who choose to miss it up with them expect any different." are so dumb relative to the incident as to be ludicrous.

And it's not about being PC, as with just about everything it's about money. The NY sports media wants it, there are more sports media here than practically anywhere else, and they get it by concocting any and all kinds of salacious shit about sports personalities. It wouldn't matter if outside of games Mixon had spent all of his time since this incident as a monk, down on his knees praying. The moment a NY team picked him up you would see nothing but videos and still pics of him sucker punching and cold-cocking the pretty little blond girl. And then you'd see more, with follow-ups, and add-on's, and he'd get followed around with cameras being asked, "How much fun is it to beat up little girls?"

And the second point about money; the money the Giants spent for Mixon would have been better disposed of being flushed down the toilet. As it would not have been used to alienate fans and the general public, instead of being spent on a prospect who has a future with the team and can actually help them.

McAdoo constantly talks of good citizens, and guys who

You need to sell that stuff to Ray Rice.

they need to sort the OL and add a CB
msh : 4/29/2017 5:25 am : link
they need a power back/short yardage type runner they have perkins and veeren they need a 3rd down and short type chain mover like deveon smith in the latter rounds

AFTER the address the OL and add some better CB depth i dont want another second half meltdown in the playoffs once DRC or jenkins gets injuried again like we watched against green bay this year
