I was a little surprised that Cook didn't go somewhere in the first round, though based on available talent, it's a close call. And it's also possible that his off-field concerns weigh more heavily among NFL front offices than we know. But I expect he and several other RB's should slot somewhere in round two.
However, I have a gut feeling that the Giants aren't anxious to take a RB high, and I don't expect them to seriously consider one until the mid or late rounds, or if they can't get the value they want at the pick, looking at UDFA's as they interviewed several players who will likely slot there.
I frankly think next year's draft may be even better for RB, but on the other hand, there are some significant talents still on the board, and if they slide far enough, they become compelling options.

De'Veon Smith in the 6/7th.
Or Joe Williams in the 5/6th
I like Kamara, but I think we get a lot more value out of an OL and/or a DL and/or an ER today.
As a Michigan guy I love De'Veon, but honestly his skill-set is remarkably similar to Darkwa's. Assuming the Giants do pick up a between-the-tackles/short yardage bake like Blount, I'd rather pick a RB in this draft who can spell Vereen (or replace him when he inevitably gets injured). Someone who can help in the underneath passing game.
If we don't go there we OL/DT/Edge/CB.. which we have needs too. I'm confident we will get a guy that can play this year.
Unless Kamara falls though.. I don't think we consider it.. and go Tomlinson at DT or Lamp/Dawkins/Moton on the OL, Cunningham will be there, doubt Bowser will at LB. Lot's of good options!
Sorry, I worded that wrong. I don't think we should go RB in round 2 or 3 even if a good OL guy is not available.
Perine in the 3rd. A lineman, either side, in the 2nd.

Agree: if Blount is on the table, Smith would be off the table.
i do like kamara personally quite a bit.

I'd really like them to pick Perrine but I don't think he makes it past the third round if not Joe Williams is the man !

Another guy with breakaway speed, 4.41 speed. If he drops to the 5th...
I really like Perkins, but I don't think think he can carry the load alone, and I see Vereen as a complimentary RB. They need to add more talent.
Only on a female.

The problem is that he's a bomb self-primed to detonate in the NY sports media marketplace.
Only on a female.
Or any team in that plays in that marketplace. He'd be the gift that keeps on giving.

Smith was a good college player but I just don't see his game translating well to the NFL. Seriously lacking athleticism for a rb.
I would offer one caveat, if woman want equality yet preferential treatment they should think before physically challenging a male. Not all males will allow a physical affront of disrespect go unchallenged. Especially when we consider the youth of today's society who show little respect for their parents much less elders. So why would women who choose to miss it up with them expect any different.

I suspect you're deliberately trying to be provocative, but statements like "So why would women who choose to miss it up with them expect any different." are so dumb relative to the incident as to be ludicrous.
And it's not about being PC, as with just about everything it's about money. The NY sports media wants it, there are more sports media here than practically anywhere else, and they get it by concocting any and all kinds of salacious shit about sports personalities. It wouldn't matter if outside of games Mixon had spent all of his time since this incident as a monk, down on his knees praying. The moment a NY team picked him up you would see nothing but videos and still pics of him sucker punching and cold-cocking the pretty little blond girl. And then you'd see more, with follow-ups, and add-on's, and he'd get followed around with cameras being asked, "How much fun is it to beat up little girls?"
And the second point about money; the money the Giants spent for Mixon would have been better disposed of being flushed down the toilet. As it would not have been used to alienate fans and the general public, instead of being spent on a prospect who has a future with the team and can actually help them.
AFTER the address the OL and add some better CB depth i dont want another second half meltdown in the playoffs once DRC or jenkins gets injuried again like we watched against green bay this year
