The problem is with the greedy networks and NFL.

Feels like the delay is that they have to get the ex player to come to the stage and with trades happening, it might take longer to find whoever is announcing the next pick.
They used to broadcast the draft. Now, they're over producing this event.

Btw--the Giants are now within striking range if they want to trade their 3rd round pick to move up in the second round. Too little too late perhaps with Robinson and Lamp gone, but I think they will get great value at #55 no matter what.

If I ran the Board I'd have separate threads for Net and TV so that we could all join with our BBI brethren, but I'm OK with your choosing not to do so.
But to disrespect Sy seemed a bit amusing/disappointing to me.
DE Jordan Willis
DT Chris Wormley
CB/FS Desmond King
CB Chidobe Awuzie
CB Quincy Wilson
RB Alvin Kamara
OLB Tyus Bowser
OLB Zach Cunningham
FS Obi Melifonwu
Cunningham, Melifonwu, Bowser, Wormley or Willis would be ideal, but I'd be happy with any of the above in the second round.
I mean that's a long list....meaning the Giants won't take anyone from my list :P. I didn't include the interior O-Linemen like Dion Dawkins, Elflein, Pocic, Dorian Johnson, etc. I didn't watch them.
I would be quite pissed if we deviated from my list :P
And VERY pissed if we took a QB in the second round
Is it that hard to wait until the pick is announced on TV and then refresh the thread afterwards?
I just don't understand why it bothers people so much.
I always like being surprised by the Giants pick so once they're about to be on the clock, I stop looking at the thread until after the pick is announced. It's actually really easy!

We want to enjoy the excitement of the live pick. Whether you get picks from the tweets, the ESPN remaining broadcasters, or osmosis, and while we enjoy your enthusiasm, posting what you know earlier than we do on Draft Days ONLY just takes the fun out of our viewing, and would appreciate it if you didn't post early.
TIA.

Who really knows when he will be ready to play and at what level after an achilles injury? I guess that is a reward over risk pick in the second round.

thing. Announce the darn picks and provide analysis. I have no idea what 100,000 people are showing up to see. This is a made for TV event that has now jumped the shark.
on drafting guys with major injury red flags, both purported short term stuff and longer term questions.
I havent looked at all, but my gut tells me that the value isnt there. These picks usually fail, and rarely do you get the top 10 player in the 2nd/3rd round.
I realize Eric and co. can't do anything about it, and have just been avoiding the thread in general, but when you see a guy like Sy asks you to knock it off and know how much he brings to this site all year for basically these three days, just ignoring his complaint is a really shitty move.
wish Jones the best, but I wouldn't use a second round pick on a corner with a torn achilles. As somebody said, it's no guarantee that his explosion returns to the same extent, which is critical for that position. I'd be less concerned if it was an OL or DL. I still probably wouldn't use a second round pick on such a player, but there is a better argument to do so.
Although he's fast and a good receiver out of the backfield, I saw him as somewhat of a straight ahead runner...not as much wiggle as I'm used to in a guy that speedy.
Anytime, bud. Definitely lots of curveballs in this draft; it has been entertaining. Have a safe flight, and I'm hoisting a scotch for you as we speak.

I'm a bit taken aback at the response he got, especially considering all the gems Sy has treated us to this offseason. I get that stopping the early posts is basically swimming upstream, and difficult to do.
Just following this thread and Twitter to get the picks. Not worth having to sit through a long commercial break after almost every pick is announced; with them being two picks behind.
they manipulate the timing for commercial purposes. Anyone notice that we got an ad right before the Giants' pick last night? This is not some kind of technical problem that they can't solve; it's business.
If you want to get the info from ESPN, that's cool. But it's no reason for BBI not to follow events in real time. Just stay off this thread and get the picks from TV, then circle back to BBI later on to discuss.
Just my $.02 ... I really don't get why there's a debate.

the networks are so far behind what is going on, they need to figure out something go forward. With the way technology is shared, this is embarrassing.
sounds a little frustrated. Definitely trying to move things along and actually acknowledging that they are several picks behind. Too much hoopla in the production.
Yeah, it might well be Webb. The argument against that is that McAdoo was apparently enthralled with Mahomes, and Webb is not very mobile. McAdoo is also clearly frustrated with Eli's immobility.
is a benefit for the NYG.
This pushes one more legitimate player down for NYG to consider.
By the way, I feel sorry for wives and girlfriends who "make up" with and forgive abusers.
As a first responder I know they are the ones who end up in emergency rooms (or worse).
Huge dollars invested in JPP and Vernon and would any of the guys left be that much better value wise then the best OLB or offensive lineman which are much bigger needs. Heck even a FS or RB
Giants obviously didn't want to trade up for anyone who's already gone. Or at least didn't want to pay the asking price. So nobody excited them that much.

You are talking about a team that drafted Kiwanuka when we already had Tuck, Strahan and Osi
I feel like their drafts have gotten a lot of praise the past few years, I remember the year they took Gilbert, Manziel and Bitonio. So much easier when you pick in the top of every round too.
If Superman gets old the rest of us don't have a chance. Even when Ali, who is younger, was physically deteriorating Brown still looked menacing. The cane hit me hard.
He's so far removed from those injuries. I'd be more concerned if a NT type relied on explosion, and very quick feet. It's not like this is a skill position, where that type of injury would raise more concerns. Was hoping for Dawkins, but guess we really needed to plug the hole left by Hankins.

My "steals" for the draft are Ryan Anderson-Joe Mixon-Jordan Leggett-A.Kamara-Dalvin Tomlinson-Zach Cunningham-Curtis Samuel-DeMarcus Walker
Far ahead? TVis just getting to the Dolphins pick.
ESPN is consistently 7-8 minutes and 2-3 picks behind. As I posted above - it's just a business decision for them, they get to force you to watch ads and receive the actual news late...

To stay current go to Jeff Howe tweets (out of Boston).
This kid could have gotten a full scolarship to a d1 school for wrestling and become an all american, he was that talented. Reminds of Daniels with Green Bay. He will be hell on whoever has to block him.
He's a 1-tech who can play 3-tech. He's used to being double teamed but they can't with Snacks next to him on one side and JPP on the other. He could have a field day wreaking havoc on the QB. Plus, if Snacks needs a breather or gets dinged, he can slide right over and take over the 1-tech spot.
Nobody is going to run up the middle on us - nobody!
there could be really good value at RB in the third.
Kamara, Foreman, Perine.
This draft is loaded with RBs. I think there are going to he studs all throughout the draft. Elijah Hood my favorite, Mack, I'tavius Mathers, Hill, Conner, on and on
a real nice player, some say a star, and Jerry lets him walk in free agency and uses a second rounder to pick Hankins. Hankins is a real nice player, and Jerry lets him walk in free agency and uses a second rounder to pick Tomlinson.
we should have resigned though in fairness to Reese, Linval upped his game in Minny and gave credit to their coaching staff so maybe it's not all on the FO.

They could. They've been lacking a replacement for Josh Sitton. But I think the three I mentioned are the top 3 guys for the Packers.
Just remember, Collins struggled big time as a rookie. He was a favorite whipping target.

So he was being sarcastic, now I know I'm not going nuts.
The pick is in. The Seahawks have done it.
Alert: The #Seahawks have made a pick. And the #Bears are trading back, per source.
Would love to see him go there rather than play him twice a year in Philly
What? Why?
Arizona traded second-, fourth- and sixth-round picks to Chicago to move up for defense. Bears recoup some picks.
Huh? The gut could be another Zach Martin.
The #Seahawks move back and back and back and take #MSU Malik McDowell who they wouldve taken in the first round.
And for a FS.
The #Rams have traded with the #Bills at No. 37. Back to back
Deals now flying. Bills traded picks 37 and 149 in 4th to the Rams for 44 and 91st in third round.
Lost cause.

If I ran the Board I'd have separate threads for Net and TV so that we could all join with our BBI brethren, but I'm OK with your choosing not to do so.
But to disrespect Sy seemed a bit amusing/disappointing to me.
I just don't understand why it bothers people so much.
I always like being surprised by the Giants pick so once they're about to be on the clock, I stop looking at the thread until after the pick is announced. It's actually really easy!
2. Jordan Willis
3. Tyus Bowser
4. Awuzie
5. Moreau
6. Q. Wilson
7. Dion Dawkins
8. Taylor Moton
9. Dan Feeney
10. Obi Melanfanwu
11. Chris Wormley
12. Tim Williams
It's an unreasonable request.
Do you want me banning people for posting picks as they are publicly revealed?
You really want to head down that path?
We tried two threads last year and/or the year before. It sucked.
I honestly find this ridiculous. Some people want a magical thread where no one says anything until ESPN and the NFL Network announce it.
That's not happening in 2017.
Deal with it.
Because I like reading people's opinions on possible picks and picks that were chosen. Why can't we have a thread without spoilers where people want to discuss the picks as they come in on TV and a thread with spoilers for those that have to know as soon as the pick is made? I've seen other boards do it.
So we can talk football here.

So wait until the rounds are over for the night and read about the picks afterwards.
I suggest you find another site.
And I'm not arguing with you.

How many more picks till us?

Haha, or:
The Eagles took one of the following:
A)
B)
C)
D)
Also Willis and Bowser at Edge/LB
Quincy Wilson and Chidobe Awouzie, 2 CB's that would not have surprised me to go Round 1

TIA.
or you could just close your internet and watch it on tv with no spoilage to worry about.
Yes, or don't refresh until after the pick.
Yeah they are. Too bad they're the scum of the earth
Is the NFL still charging the military for these honors? It disgusts me that the league did that for years. It's one of the things that turns me off of the league.

Then log off.

its at least 4 to 5 mins delay
Holding the draft outside was a great idea. It allows so many fans to be part of the event. Why didn't NY ever do this all those years?
They should. This is their super bowl.
I just don't understand why it bothers people so much.

yea the giants pick is the one i try to not see it ahead of time via twitter or here. once giants or on the clock my internet is on no refresh
That was cool, Jeff. Made me smile.
Yeah, their fans are nuts, but gotta love the enthusiasm.
they did start their own thread tonight
I havent looked at all, but my gut tells me that the value isnt there. These picks usually fail, and rarely do you get the top 10 player in the 2nd/3rd round.
He hath spoken!
Would love Kamara. Would be a fantastic value. I had him as a late first, early second rounder
What do the Cowboys doctors think about Jaylon Smith?
I hope you know something!
I hope we can get someone better at #55.

JonC? Nah, he doesn't know anything....he's not in the know...
Who will block for him? Don't get me wrong, he really intrigued me when I watched Tennessee play, but the OL or D talent I have ranked higher.

If Giants want Obi, they will have to get in front of DC. DC needs S.
Although he's fast and a good receiver out of the backfield, I saw him as somewhat of a straight ahead runner...not as much wiggle as I'm used to in a guy that speedy.
I'm a bit taken aback at the response he got, especially considering all the gems Sy has treated us to this offseason. I get that stopping the early posts is basically swimming upstream, and difficult to do.
Lot of good players available
Lot of good players available
Fact? or a wish?
At 55, would be a good pick.
That's a Raven pick. High AA.
Sure.
Can I get a hell yeah?
JeffPHowe.
No trade ups. A good player at a position of need will be there.
Not with Adams and Thompson.

That the Bengals take him isn't remotely surprising. That they take him while having Jeremy Hill and Giovanni Bernard is.
Sorry. DeMarcus Walker.
Baltimore picked him
or if you can't stay away, learn how to duck
He went to Baltimore. Willis still there
Let it happen...
Giants will have a lot of good guys to choose from.

What a shitty operation this is.
Some things never change. Seriously. Some things never change.
Stone Age shit.
If you want to get the info from ESPN, that's cool. But it's no reason for BBI not to follow events in real time. Just stay off this thread and get the picks from TV, then circle back to BBI later on to discuss.
Just my $.02 ... I really don't get why there's a debate.
What a shitty operation this is.
what Mixon news?
Stone Age shit.
or what Dave said ...
And they are two picks behind them being publicly revealed.
Gets worse every year
I'd consider doing so. Reese? Not so much.
what Mixon news?
I was referring to his selection.
They love the dirtbag players.
Class be damned.
Lewis and the Bengals. Hardly surprising.
DT Wormley

Yeah, but I could see them taking the CB from Colorado. He's really good.

According to @AdamSchefter there were only about 4 teams in the NFL thinking or considering about taking Joe Mixon.
DT Wormley
DE Walker
what about Melifonwu?
Bro Sweets
DT Wormley
DE Walker
DT Chris Wormley
CB/FS Desmond King
CB Chidobe Awuzie
RB Alvin Kamara
OLB Zach Cunningham
FS Obi Melifonwu
C'mon, brooooooooo
Or Webb

Let me guess: Bengals, Cowboys, Jets and New England.
My sentiments exactly. Sucks.
Quote:
I wonder if the Giants will consider him.
Or Webb
Yeah, it might well be Webb. The argument against that is that McAdoo was apparently enthralled with Mahomes, and Webb is not very mobile. McAdoo is also clearly frustrated with Eli's immobility.
DT Chris Wormley
CB/FS Desmond King
CB Chidobe Awuzie
RB Alvin Kamara

Willis, Wormley, or Awuzie would be great. Or an OL like Dion Dawkins or Dan Feeney. Just so many guys I wish Reese would trade down and net a 3 or 4

Yeah, Mike. Not a Giant type, that's for sure.
ESPN on ad break - Denver pick not announced yet and your post was 5 minutes ago! They are going to be 8 minutes or so behind with this one.
They are not taking Kamara
This pushes one more legitimate player down for NYG to consider.
By the way, I feel sorry for wives and girlfriends who "make up" with and forgive abusers.
As a first responder I know they are the ones who end up in emergency rooms (or worse).
It'd be nice if someone before us went oneness to make it better for us.
Also Jordan Willis who K-State fans are really hyping to me. They tell me that nobody will work harder.
Wormley
Cunningham
It sure would.
Thought he was a DE. Makes sense at the 3t ech Thanks
QB Kizer OR OL Dawkins
I want:
OL Dawkins
DT Wormley
S King
You are talking about a team that drafted Kiwanuka when we already had Tuck, Strahan and Osi

Kizer is a Brown.
Third day.

Me too. Good for him with the beard. What a player.
'Cause he looked like shit in several games.
Quote:
How come nobody else wants him?
Third day.
But he had a higher grade than Denver's OT in round 1.
I'm okay with that.
How is everyone so far ahead?
Or Webb.
A lot of good choices here.
Wormley
Dawkins
Awouzie
Molifonwu
DE Jordan Willis
DT Chris Wormley

I'd be ecstatic with Dawkins, Cunningham or Wormly.
Really like the idea of Dawkins here.

If the Giants take a QB here, I will, for one of the few times, get on Reese's case.
I feel like their drafts have gotten a lot of praise the past few years, I remember the year they took Gilbert, Manziel and Bitonio. So much easier when you pick in the top of every round too.
Not happy. Two torn ACLs.
The dt from bama fell!
Don't like it
Yup.
Cunningham in free fall. Need the best OL on the board in RD 3 now
You feel old?; I was in HS when he was playing for "Cuse" :)
Ironically his first love was Lacrosse. (It just didn't pay as well professionally).
Melifonwu got ran over by a 170 lbs running back.
Cool. But this isn't a baseball thread.
That's important with Eli's window
Quote:
Please don't tell me that's actually true.
Yup.
He's so far removed from those injuries. I'd be more concerned if a NT type relied on explosion, and very quick feet. It's not like this is a skill position, where that type of injury would raise more concerns. Was hoping for Dawkins, but guess we really needed to plug the hole left by Hankins.
2.Forced to reach in the 2nd round to replace Hankins.
We're not ahead. The TV is just light years behind.
I'm not posting, but TV is on a several minute delay and twitter and the internet are real time

you're right with so many good players left on the board we can easily trade down a few spots

Twitter. And yes, the TV feeds are way behind thanks to their commercial breaks.

Your proximity to the venue means squat.
ESPN is consistently 7-8 minutes and 2-3 picks behind. As I posted above - it's just a business decision for them, they get to force you to watch ads and receive the actual news late...

Um Bromly and Marvin Austin? I do Think Tomlinson will be a solid starter right away but he's hit on 2 and missed on 2.

Bromley played well in limited snaps, still needs to prove more, but let's not bury the kid yet.
After Taco? Cant see that. My guess a CB or JuJu
Kamara, Foreman, Perine.
Nobody is going to run up the middle on us - nobody!
And calm down, Drew Pearson
Kamara, Foreman, Perine.
This draft is loaded with RBs. I think there are going to he studs all throughout the draft. Elijah Hood my favorite, Mack, I'tavius Mathers, Hill, Conner, on and on
LOL.. I know, I was just going to post that. Gotta love this guy. Sticking it up their ass
Rich Eisen, a New York guy is really enjoying all the Philly haters.
That was damn funny. Five time SB champs. Suck on that Philly.
I like how we're looking if we can protect Eli and stay healthy.
They're straight up dumpster juice.
I'm already excited about 2021.
maybe not a reach.
