8 Daeshon Hall 66/260 Texas A& M: 78
Summary: Four year contributor that made a full time position move from outside linebacker to defensive end in 2015. Hall still has some rawness to his game but the tools and ability cannot be overlooked. He has some of the best natural talent and overall upside in the entire class. His strength needs to catch up to his weight gain but when it does, every other trait is ready to go. Hall has uncanny bend-ability and straight line explosion, making him a nightmare for any blocker. His versatility as an inside-outside rusher could really get a defensive coordinator excited. Enormous upside.
*Ive been back and forth on Hall a few times. Whenever I would scout Garrett, I kept noting that the guy on the other side of the line was quite the tools-rich prospect himself. They looked like two NFL DEs playing against college kids. Upon further review, I noticed that Hall lacked a physical presence when engaged with blockers. He didnt get much push and struggled to disengage from quality players. I really saw this at the Senior Bowl. Re-watching some of his game tapes I noticed some of the same things. His talent and upside are high, but I wish I saw some more physical play from him. This is a guy NYG will have a high grade on.

He's on my list, but I like Perine, Mack and Hunt more. For someone so big, Foreman dances around too much for my taste. If he learned to be an in-between tackles runner, he could very good.

RE: I'm guessing Jordan Willis and Carl Lawson have medical issues
Can't believe he is still out there. Solid against the run and can rush the passer at 6-4,255 with a 4.57 40 time. Supposed to be a good kid and team leader. Very productive. Sy,why has he not been taken?

As Jerry sees it, the need is for Eli to get the ball out faster. Eli averages 2.38 seconds, now. Ben and Jerry want Eli to quit wasting so much time as the ball needs to be in the playmaker's hands and not some old, hang-dog looking, stand-in-the-pocket passer. If Eli can get his release to 1.5 seconds, Championship!
FS/CB Desmond King of Iowa
RB Samaje Perine of Oklahoma
RB Kareem Hunt of Toledo
RB Marlon Mack of South Florida
CB Fabian Moreau of UCLA (he's injured though) - wildcard. Don't know his recovery time.

He has some pedestrian tape...and showed a lack of power presence at Senior Bowl. Perhaps some teams question if he can add weight.
..RB James Conner? Tall for a RB, could be a power runner we lack
Rather grab Perrine. Kind is a monster and I think a bit better. Connor is such a great story hard not to root for him too. Rather grab Asiata though. Kicks Jerry to the bench and insurance if as many believe Pugh is too rich to re-sign
Why is he falling? He's productive, versatile and has amazing intangibles.
He is a little under sized for a 4-3 DT. His tape is also on the outside. Plus so many DBs going it is pushing people down and DT is loaded with a ton of talent left. Actually i don't go DT here. I go Cordrea or King. I want a DB

That's right. I've mentioned Seth Russell before as the QB remaining who is most like Mahomes. The question with him is health.
Mobility maybe but when it comes to arms they are the 2 best in the draft.
Hard to say with Russell because there is so little tape of him, but from what I saw, his arm is as good as Webb's. He can certainly make all the NFL throws. He's also a much better overall athlete.

Not even close... Webb has a cannon like Mahomes. They are above all other QBs. They are both gun slingers also but while Mahomes reminds me of Favre, Webb reminds me of Eli... no joke, but he needs work in reading Def and checking off WRs. Sit and learn for 2-3 years and boom you have a stud IMO
Perine or the RB from Texas? Don't watch enough college ball to know...
I'd rather have Perine but Foreman is the more decorated guy. I like both, but I would prefer Perine.
Do the NYG want a competitor to Perkins or a complement?
E.g. a "loser" for the top feature back or a sure contributor role player? Remember Blount was an UDFA.

Again, very little tape on Russell, so I reserve judgment on whether his arm is as strong as Webb's. But from what I saw, it is. Not questioning Webb's arm strength, and am OK taking him here. Vastly different than in first or second round. Russell though can be had much later, and much more athletic. Fine passing on him though because don't really want an QB, and he's had some bad injuries.

could have made an argument to trade up and get Rivers. It wouldn't have been that expensive. Maybe a fifth. Most of those picks never work out anyway. Reese has done well, but his lack of movement in the draft can be a real hindrance.

Fantasy land.
What part is fantasy?
All of it.
I feel we could just C/P the Nassib feedback for Webb (if they pick him).
It's a third round pick. The odds of it being that type of success is really, really small.
I hated the Nassib pick too, but I guess comparing that time and pick against now and this pick is apples/oranges.
Third round pick on a guy who may never be a starter, at a position where next year's draft looks stacked, when there's a lot of talent still on the board.
I think it's fair to question the value of this pick. We shall see!
Agree! The only logic is that they figure the o-line is going to get Eli killed this year so they better get a replacement now. Ridiculous pick just like the last QB they wasted a pick on!
Canon arm, smart (his dad is a coach), and big. We could look back in 2 years and he could be the best QB in the draft. Great developmental guy to replace Eli in a few years.
This is a great kid... he works harder than anyone. In at 5am and there last at Cal. Just a great kid who wants to be good. He studies and works all the time. He reminds me of Eli in a lot of ways. I have Cal season tickets and know a lot of inside people at Cal. This guy is top notch. Now he needs work. He locks onto WRs, doesn't progress thru reads and needs help there. I guarantee you tho this guy will give it everything he has on and off the field to be good. Oh and has a rifle on his arm. Check out his ball velocity it is off 2nd to only Mahomes altho in other events his was higher. Love this!!
If Eli followed Bradys regime, he could play to 45, just like him.
This move has Eli here thru the '18, possibly '19 season, then Adios!
Its just a depressing thought.
I'd expect them to go RB or OL here assuming the value lines up.

This is the guy I want, but I don't think the Giants will pick him. They probably think they can get a guard later on in the draft.

Polian was on ESPN the other day and had Willis as his biggest surprise of the draft and said he should go at the end of the first round.
And a lot of people thought Kamara could go middle of the 2nd at the worst. So weird

Off field stuff and fumbles is my guess
Didn't stop Cook and Kamara is like Cook-lite.
Cook is top 10 talent and went second round. Same with Mixon. Both better than Kamara who is good but in a group below
True. Still, Kamara has no business being around at this point.
Are they trading Ingram? Makes no sense.

Deashon Hall. Texas AM. Garrett's teammate. Up and coming DE. Classic Giants 4-3 DE.
He is so over rated on this site. This guy never makes plays. Don't get the love at all.
Sy's write up:
Upside Pro Comparison: Michael Johnson CIN
And? He is over rated by Sy then. No offense to him he is right some and wrong some. Even he was like i am back and forth and the reason why is because he doesnt make any plays!
Maybe they cut ties with Ingram? Weird pick.
Saints needed a 3rd down back and they got a good one here
Maybe they cut ties with Ingram? Weird pick.
AP and Ingram are not threats as receivers out of the backfield
God I hope not

AP may be done. You dont pass on talent in the 3rd because of a 32 old RB and Ingram is probably only one year left if they dont trade him

I think Lamp can play LT. His short arms are being marked to much. They are longer than Pugh and he was better than Pugh at tackle in college.

But don't worry.
Jerry will take real good care of this unit.

Asiata is still there. Otherwise I really like DB's left
FS/CB Desmond King of Iowa
RB Samaje Perine of Oklahoma
RB Kareem Hunt of Toledo
RB Marlon Mack of South Florida
CB Fabian Moreau of UCLA (he's injured though) - wildcard. Don't know his recovery time.
Antonio Garcia
Dorian Johnson
Jourdan Lewis
Tim Williams
Desmond King
Duke Riley
Fabian Moreau
Derek Rivers
Samaje Perine
Isaac Asiata
Why is he falling? He's productive, versatile and has amazing intangibles.
He has some pedestrian tape...and showed a lack of power presence at Senior Bowl. Perhaps some teams question if he can add weight.
Wormley played DE in a 4-3 last year. He can move around and i think we need 2 DTs in this draft.
But don't worry.
Jerry will take real good care of this unit.
Not sure if serious....
I think he goes in Round 5. That's my guess

Rather grab Perrine. Kind is a monster and I think a bit better. Connor is such a great story hard not to root for him too. Rather grab Asiata though. Kicks Jerry to the bench and insurance if as many believe Pugh is too rich to re-sign

He is a little under sized for a 4-3 DT. His tape is also on the outside. Plus so many DBs going it is pushing people down and DT is loaded with a ton of talent left. Actually i don't go DT here. I go Cordrea or King. I want a DB
That is a better fit as a 3-4 DE... good player
Would be happy with either. Holden offers more versatility. McDermott more long term upside.
Sheesh..It seems like somewhere in every draft the fucking Ravens take the guys BBIers covet and talk about a lot

Smokes weed everyday
Foreman.

It all depends on Moreau's injury. If he wasn't hurt, he might've gone in the first round. Extremely talented and fluid.

Rod Johnson has technique issues but if you can coach him up he has good feet and length. I like the potential. Better feet than most left.

Hard to say with Russell because there is so little tape of him, but from what I saw, his arm is as good as Webb's. He can certainly make all the NFL throws. He's also a much better overall athlete.
Moreau has a torn pec, and had a lis franc in 2015.

This exactly what I hope doesnt happen.. that they force OL pick..

Do the NYG want a competitor to Perkins or a complement?
E.g. a "loser" for the top feature back or a sure contributor role player? Remember Blount was an UDFA.
Third round isn't kind to anyone. Neither are All subsequent rounds

Fantasy land.
id be happy with webb here

Again, very little tape on Russell, so I reserve judgment on whether his arm is as strong as Webb's. But from what I saw, it is. Not questioning Webb's arm strength, and am OK taking him here. Vastly different than in first or second round. Russell though can be had much later, and much more athletic. Fine passing on him though because don't really want an QB, and he's had some bad injuries.

What part is fantasy?
Pats crushing the draft as usual.
CB Rasul Douglas
CB Cordrea Tankersley
RB D'Onta Foreman
RB Samaje Perine
RB Kareem Hunt
RB Marlon Mack
RB Jeremy McNichols
Julie'n Davenport of Bucknell would be a WONDERFUL OT project for Solari. Arms for days and great size.
A FEW MORE PICKS UNTIL US!
Pats crushing the draft as usual.
Oh yeah. Their amazing one pick!
Jesus do some of you think before you post?

Two picks you fucking doofus. And both seem to be really good picks in the third.
Take a lap, putz.
Ugh like the pucks so far but OL still is a huge worry. Pats likely jumped us

All of it.
I feel we could just C/P the Nassib feedback for Webb (if they pick him).
It's a third round pick. The odds of it being that type of success is really, really small.
Take a RB in Rd 4, or just sign Blount.

McDermott, Asiata, Johnson, Holden
This exactly what I hope doesnt happen.. that they force OL pick..
Who would you prefer? Asiata looks like a worthwhile try at this stage.
Who they takin'?
You called it.

He's worth a pick here.

Holy crap, you're a nutjob. And clearly wrong. If you don't think the Pats do a great job drafting year in and year out you don't know football.
link?
I hated the Nassib pick too, but I guess comparing that time and pick against now and this pick is apples/oranges.
Third round pick on a guy who may never be a starter, at a position where next year's draft looks stacked, when there's a lot of talent still on the board.
I think it's fair to question the value of this pick. We shall see!
No need to clutter the roster w those two after training camp
Well done on your prediction.
Agree! The only logic is that they figure the o-line is going to get Eli killed this year so they better get a replacement now. Ridiculous pick just like the last QB they wasted a pick on!
Can't be just one guy in the room that liked him.
This move has Eli here thru the '18, possibly '19 season, then Adios!
Its just a depressing thought.
Because they fear Davis Webb :)
