Dare i say, Webb's FB IQ is second to none in this draft

Canton : 4/29/2017 12:16 am
An excellent read on Webb's football acumen. Lastly, color me intrigued, after he made this comment..

Quote:
Last question: What separates you from the other quarterbacks in this draft class? Why should a team want Davis Webb as its franchise quarterback?
Webb: You ask any quarterback, and they're all gonna say the same thing—they feel like they're the best quarterback in the draft, and what I feel separates me from other guys is my work ethic and my love of the game. But I think my projection as a quarterback is very good—I think five to 10 years from now, I think I'm going to be a lot different than I am today. I'll be a lot better, and a lot more mechanically efficient, and have the capability to run an NFL offense. So, I think my projection down the road is very high, and I think that's what separates me—the potential is very good, and I'm going to work every day to get better.

And oh, he can toss It 75 Yards 'With Ease'

great size, rocket arm, underrated athleticism ... and FBIQ?

but we need to reach for a guard who doesn't fit this offensive system whatsoever (Asiata) ?!?
Don't tell that to this guy...

we should cut Eli tomorrow (j/k!). Seriously, very impressed with the Webb Slinger. Allowed more freedom than Goff, who was the #1 overall pick last year.

The Webb Slinger. I have a feeling that that name sticks.

bit of Aaron Rodgers in him. not the freakish mobility but the throwing part
it's not just how smart you are

Watching his tapes I actually think he compares with Rodgers pretty well. My concern isn't his running ability. He may not be as good as Rodgers running but I think he is closer than you think. My concern is accuracy. He has a gun but isn't as accurate as he needs to be. There are a lot of big arm QB's in the league. The starters hit the mark. The backups don't. Rodgers is deadly accurate on the run. Not sure this kid will match up although not many in NFL do.

+1
I'm not panning Webb, but --

seriously - how can you compare him to Rogers? -- take away Rogers ability to move around and throw while he scrambles and Rogers becomes quite ordinary

Webb is nothing like Rogers -- the comparisons to Eli and Simms are more in line with what he is - he is a classic pocket passer at a time when there are very few of them running around

Mahomes - now he compares to Rogers.

I know my pal Dave Te compared Webb to Osweiller -- but I want to point out that Osweiller in the right system was not so bad -- this is why he got the big contract

Where the Osweiller comparison fails is in this kid's obsessive work ethic, his mentality and his intelligence -- those attributes make Webb quite different than Osweiller
I wouldn't be surprised if he did.

Doubt he has much competition in that aspect.

Rodgers has one of the best combinations of arm strength/mobility/accuracy I've ever seen.

I'd be careful about making that comparison. It's a pretty lofty one.
I think Webb compares more to Big Ben

He even does some pump fakes
