NFT: Good morning Yankee fans!

DC Gmen Fan : 4/29/2017 7:39 am
What a win last night. Judge with 2 HRs, Ells with a GS, and Holiday earns his pinstripes with a walk-off 3R HR.

Just a fun game to watch in the later innings.

I know it's early but what a great season so far. I hope this is a preview of what we can enjoy for several years to come!
Such an awesome comeback

CC has been great, but on a night when he didn't have it, they bailed him out. That's what good teams do.

Great to see Didi back. Nice swings and great glove and arm!!

So easy to watch this crew play. Love the kids. Vets holding their own too.

Gardy is getting a little hard to watch. Looks a little lost at the plate. I'd like to see Hicks splitting a little more time with him.

Gardy and Bird need to get right

though Bird has had some better contact lately. Almost hit one out last night.
I miss a game
adamg : 4/29/2017 7:49 am : link
and it's the game of the year.

Those highlights were something else. Judge is the resurrector, and Didi is just so much fun to watch.

This team is a contenda.
Gave up at 9 -1

Heard wife screaming and yelling at 11-8... Figured that was it...
SURPRISE !!!
Team's got some heart, love it.
At least

this team is not DAMN boring, we have seen too much of
that in recent years! Great comeback, and Matt Holliday,
welcome to the Yanks, you are now a Yankee!
We have see this with people like Matsui and Giambi,
a moment as a new player on the team who has now 'earned'
his Pinstripes. I was going to start a thread on the Yanks,
glad somebody beat me to it. Keep it going boys!

.

Tough night for pitching on BOTH sides to be honest,
two grand slams, and about 8 homers combined.
It was like batting practice out there, geez.
This team
mdthedream : 4/29/2017 8:51 am : link
has a lot of great young talent. What is not to like :)
Last night was a huge win considering how young
mfsd : 4/29/2017 10:47 am : link
this team is. They apparently never thought they were out of it at 9-1, and look what happened. The confidence they can overcome a lousy start like CC had last night is huge

Judges home runs are the kind that lift the whole team...you can see the reaction from the bench, how excited they get. His second home run last night was unreal - 120 mph off the bat, probably never more than 30 feet off the ground.

Great energy on this team right now. And Didi looked on top of his game, nice to have him back
14-7

Basically without Sanchez and Didi and Bird doing nothing offensively. Pretty damn good. And on a night when the SP + 1 reliever are horrible, they still come back and win. Total team effort so far this year, solid mix of veterans and youth. Plus a great mgr., despite what a lot of you think of him. A LONG way to go but a very exciting start for this club.
Judge
looie : 4/29/2017 10:48 am : link
Currently leads AL in slugging %, 2nd to Trout in OPS.
9-1 at home this season.

Let's go win another!
Great game

One of my favorite Yankee games in a very long time. I really like this team.
Holliday said Judge's second HR was
Del Shofner : 4/29/2017 12:32 pm : link
"a line drive that the shortstop jumped for and it went over the fence," and that he'd never seen that before.
No one talks about Castro
manh george : 4/29/2017 12:35 pm : link
Off to a terrific start. Sure, it won't last at this level, but he looks really confident at the plate. Second in the AL in BA, and that HR last night was huge and well-timed. 15 strikeouts isn't so bad.
Catching up and watching the highlights

Nothing like a good walk off celebration. Love the gatorade bath and the players all jumping around like a bunch of kids.

Seems like a team that's really coming together
I'm on record

as not being much of a Castro fan. But a HR off his back knee to tie the game, that's pretty damn awesome. He also strikes me as a pretty popular player among his teammates. The prospects like Torres all spoke well of him too.

Happy to see him off to a strong start. I'll certainly take it
Gardy goes yardy for the first time this year

Yanks on top 1-0 early
Pineda looked sharp in the first
mfsd : 4/29/2017 1:29 pm : link
3 strikeouts around a Jones single

This is an odd lineup that Girardi has settled into...I'm known to criticize his lineups from time to time, but can't argue with the results right now.

I'd still move Judge up a bit, but I think he's trying to protect him and Bird a bit by hitting them lower

Of course, will change again when Sanchez returns
