I respect what Dave and Sy see but both Osweiler and Mallett are headcases who've had their share of questions.
I have no problem taking Webb. We are not getting a shot at the 3 or 4 top QBs next year. They will all be gone in top 10. Teams like the Jets, Bills, Niners, Saints, Broncos, possibly the Jags, probably the Steelers all looking for a franchise QB or replacement franchise QB. Also, one could see the Browns still going for one despite the Kizer pick. I think Kizer is a guy scouts love the physical tools but I think he's a guy that will duck and run with adversity.
If we do it means we've pooped the bed this coming season and it's time to move on from Eli.
Last year, he completed just 41.02% of his passes of 20 yards or longer and five of his twelve interceptions came on deep throws of 30 yards or more. Like I said, Nuke LaLoosh (Tim Robbins character in Bull Durham) in a football uniform

What % did guys like Watson and Trubisky hit over 20 yards?
RE: If you are committed to a west coast offense with McAdoo Â
Then a QB who's biggest flaw is a little inaccuracy on deep throws should not be a problem.
On the other hand, if you draft a TE so you can go more vertical, an inaccurate QB is a bigger problem.
Engram is great after the catch, like unfair for a TE good, and I found quite a few of Webb's weaknesses to somewhat be negated by mcadoo's system. he's fairly mobile, great arm strength, and excels in the shotgun/short passing game - aka what the giants do most of the game.

Yeah and he was playing with all new players most of them FR or first time playing and they dropped balls. Go watch him in the Arizona State game and he throws a 60 yard bomb that drops to a 4.3 WR in stride right in his hands dropped. Cal lost their top 6 WRs and had no experience catching the ball. His timing was off but i think it got better later in the year. To many young guys catching balls tho or dropping them. Starters True FR, Hansen barely played, True FR, JR barely played. Top back ups non schollie SR 5'5 WR who barely played, transfer Wharton first time playing, RS Fr first time playing, etc. They returned guys with like a combined 40 career catches.

I apologize it was the USC game where he throws a perfect pass in stride about 55 yards and the WR just drops it.
Also go watch his vs on Utube. They are down by big numbers each game. He is forcing throws trying to come back because he has to. You watch him and he makes so many great throws and some forced. He is also under presser a lot but slides nicely, moves nicely, hardly ever gets sacked. He is very good go watch him again and dont judge deep forced throws when they have given up 35 points in the first half and he is trying to battle
Dave Te - no accuracy deep, comp. Ryan Mallett
Webb and/or Genoa are going to take up a Roaster spot. Really don't believe Webb will show enough, so we drop Genoa. There is 3 spots taken up by Qbs

It's Geno vs. Josh Johnson for the #2 job. Webb will be #3.

Still bewildered over the Webb selection. Other areas of them team could have been upgraded or quality depth added.

Watson's balls dont have NFL zip on them. He wont make it in the NFL IMO
