No way
Great pick
Mr. Nickels : 4:35 pm : link
!
Even if he's dogshit, some BBIers
Big Blue '56 : 4:35 pm : link
will be happy because, "we addressed the OL."
Solid developmental pick!
Simms11 : 4:35 pm : link
Nice job here by Reese.
Bisnowaty could be a future RT or move inside to Guard
Anakim : 4:35 pm : link
.
If he was clearly the best OL remaining on our board
Mike in NY : 4:36 pm : link
I have no problem losing a 7th Round pick to be sure we got him
pretty solid
mphbullet36 : 4:36 pm : link
as a pitt grad I saw a lot of him. Pitt's offensive line was stout and he was the LT there. He knows how to play football.
Hope
Mr. Nickels : 4:36 pm : link
we take cleary a an UDFA
Any word on why he dropped so far?
I've seen him mocked pretty consistently around the fourth round.
what did we give...
M.S. : 4:36 pm : link
...up?

Our 7th?
They traded up
GiantJake : 4:36 pm : link
Anybody know what they gave up? 7th rounder or a pick next year?
Got a little
Fish : 4:37 pm : link
Robert Gallery in him.
Might benefit from a move to the inside

8 Adam Bisnowaty 65/305 Pittsburgh: 74

Summary: Fifth year senior that started all four years after his redshirt. Missed some time early in his career. Manned the left tackle spot and was named 1st Team All ACC in 2015 and 2016. Bisnowaty is an interesting case because he showed flashes of both top and bottom tier over the past two seasons. He passed a few of the eyeball tests weekly when it came to knee bend, aggression, and run blocking. However his up and down execution as a pass blocker gives off the notion he may be best suited inside in a zone blocking scheme at either guard or center. He has a style of play that could excel in that role.

*Early in the 2016 season, scouts were talking about Bisnowaty as being the top guy in this class. Potential top 10 overall type. Its easy to see why because of his easy movement out of his stance and ability to mirror a defender with excellent lower half balance and quickness. He did suffer an injury somewhere around the midpoint of the season that made his tape look weak in the second half, but even at full strength I never quite saw it from him. He didnt move guys. More of an absorber rather than an attacker. Too easily thrown around. Those things bother me as much as a guy with really slow feet. I think he may be best suited for backup swing duty.

Upside Pro Comparison: Justin Britt SEA
This guy could have gone in the 4th
dpinzow : 4:37 pm : link
Like this pick...another good, solid football player
Colin gbn had him at 142 out of 364 top players he listed
Big Blue '56 : 4:38 pm : link
and USA Today had him at 143 of their top 150 players
best pick
Archer : 4:38 pm : link
I wanted Bisnowsaty in the 4th Round.
He was injured this year but was one of the top OL last year.

Can play LT but more likely a RT.

Great pick

The Giants gave up their seventh-round pick (241) in the trade up for Bisnowaty. So it appears their 2017 draft is done.
Solid pick
sounds like he could start at both guard and RT.
the 7th round pick means nothing so close to the end
mphbullet36 : 4:39 pm : link
chance of UDFA have a better chance of making the team. If you liked him enough and didn't think he would make it there. Go get him at this point.

Fifth round pick in the sixth round
Giants trade 6th and 7th round picks
myquealer : 4:39 pm : link
to trade up for him
He has versatility which the Giants crave
Anakim : 4:40 pm : link
I could see him start down the road at LG, RG or RT.

But he was absolutely awful during Senior Bowl week. I mean AWFUL. That's why he wasn't on my list.
Fine
AcidTest : 4:41 pm : link
with the trade up. Who cares about a seventh round pick? But I would have preferred using it on Knappe. Bisnowaty has reached his limit IMO. No real "upside." I don't think he can remain at LT in the NFL. Don't hate the pick. Just think we could have done better.
So UDFA begins right after the NFL's last draft pick?
Big Blue '56 : 4:41 pm : link
Can calls be made at anytime?
Yeah!!!!
5BowlsSoon : 4:42 pm : link
I knew we could find one of these guys to develop. I hope our OL coach is as excited as 3/4 of BBI members are over this pick.
Not a big deal giving up a late 7th.
manh george : 4:42 pm : link
Most of the guys on their board at that point will be available as UDFAs anyway.

Honest question. WHY would that really matter? Shouldn't all his seasons of game tape tell the story?

Calls can be made, but you cannot sign anybody until draft ends

Yes, I think teams can call whenever they want, and start to do so when the seventh round starts.
Anyone know Raanan's
Big Blue '56 : 4:44 pm : link
take? 😜😜
Happy now
cokeduplt : 4:44 pm : link
Very athletic Dave Te had a good write up on him. Was hoping he'd be the pick for rounds
isn't he the LOT against whom Avery Moss
ColHowPepper : 4:44 pm : link
was going one-on-one all game in his clip that was posted? Was it Pitt or WVa? I was thinking when watching the Moss clip (lengthy) that the OT looked pretty good, why not look at him?
Yeah, that's what I thought I remembered.
Big Blue '56 : 4:44 pm : link
Thanks Mike and Acid
great job
spike : 4:46 pm : link
.
How quickly can he be ready...
EricJ : 4:46 pm : link
to replace Flowers?
Considering we have a need
old man : 4:47 pm : link
an OL, and he grasps the G position(doubt hes a T), hopefully quickly, should be at least adequate.
All I know is that Pittsburghs offense was very good
barens : 4:47 pm : link
And their offensive line was a big part of that.

Adam Bisnowaty said he can play tackle or guard. Also thinks he's a "nasty" payer. #Giants #NFLDraft

Dan Duggan‏Verified account @DDuggan21 52s52 seconds ago

Bisnowaty said he plays nasty, wants to make his opponents quit. Music to the ears of McAdoo and Solari.

I would like to think that any Agents of OL UDFA
Jimmy Brown : 4:48 pm : link
would be beating down the Giants door for a chance to sign with a contender with a shitty OL. Hopefully, we can find a couple who were overlooked in the draft.
Jerry must have listened to Shaun

For sure, but at the Senior Bowl, he was going against some of the best seniors in college football. It does matter. Dominating Joe Schmo is not as telling as dominating Dalvin Tomlinson or Jordan Willis.

Never. RT or G
Typical Jerry Reese
Dirt1 : 4:53 pm : link
reaching for an offensive lineman in a draft that's weak for offensive lineman. Should be fired immediately. (sarcasm)
He could immediately
Mr. Nickels : 4:54 pm : link
send Jerry to the bench especially if Fluker pans out.

Ideally we should sign Austin Pasztor

Hey, at least he didn't reach for a LB.

THR has him at #153.

It will be interesting to see who the Giants score in the UDFA market. There are still some interesting OL prospects to be had like Wheeler, McDermot, Collins, Levin, Rich, Ugokwe, and one of Dave Te's favorites, Andre "Don't Sleep On" Knappe.
This may be my favorite pick of Day 3
Dunedin81 : 4:56 pm : link
Probably not a game changer, but a versatile guy who could end up playing an important reserve role as early as this year.
