CONFIRMED UDFA Signings Thread

Matt in SGS : 4/29/2017 4:45 pm
Since the draft is now over, it's a BBI tradition that we have a thread that collects all the confirmed UDFA signees. This thread is not meant to be a wish list, but rather a running updated list of players signed- with validation with a link or twitter confirmation.

Things usually start picking up a couple hours after the draft, so figure around 7ish tonight we should get word of players who the Giants will be bringing in.

injuries, Johnson is the only one with a chance at the 53. A few others (Dunker, Wheeler, Munson, Rudolph, Jones) have a legitimate chance at the PS.

Banks could have a shot as it isn't like the current coaching staff is wedded to Bromley and Thomas has not demonstrated he is really a #3 DT yet.

that the Giants have signed Rob Wheelwright from Wisconsin.

It was announced yesterday that he signed with the Panthers, but that isn't true.

You sure about that?

As I said chief, I have a source that I trust. If he's wrong, he's wrong, but I doubt it.

Yeah. I'm sure.

Seems like an apologize is in order.

apology.

Damn auto correct.
This is the most exciting class of UDFA
Jay on the Island : 4/30/2017 1:50 pm : link
in recent memory. Jadar Johnson, Jaron Jones, Chad Wheeler, Jessamen Dunker, and Josh Banks all have potential. IMO Wheeler is the most exciting as it appears the injuries are the only reason why he fell and if he can stay healthy he might be a steal.
Did those injuries affect his combine?
Bob in Newburgh : 4/30/2017 2:04 pm : link
Not only did he test ridiculously weak in upper body, he was really slow in the 40, a number that never translates into a quality LT.

I don't know, just asking. The BP #s are a joke.
We should trade our 7th rounder every year!

What's his deal? I know nothing about him, except he has an uphill battle to make the team. He probably would've been better off in Carolina with the fat Kelvin Benjamin.
We're trying out RB Jonathan Gray of Texas
Anakim : 4/30/2017 2:25 pm : link
He'll probably amount to nothing ala Joe McKnight (R.I.P.), but I think I've mentioned him in the past.

Guys, this was THE #1 RB recruit out of high school. #1. AHEAD OF TODD GURLEY. He was even ranked ahead of Landon Collins and Jameis Winston coming out of high school.
I count 16 UDFAs and three workouts

Shane Smith

reportedly did the bench press 36 times. Unbelievable for a fullback. BTW, he is strictly a blocking back. Had only 2 carries and 3 receptions as a senior.
UDFAs are my favorite part of the draft process
Floyd_Fan : 4/30/2017 4:56 pm : link
you get to read their stories & root for an underdog.

Only reason I watch pre-season games.

Also had a very good 10 yard split and jumps at his Pro Day. If he shows potential in camp I would not mind stashing him on the Practice Squad as insurance if Ellison gets hurt
Former Auburn QB Jeremy Johnson
