NGT: Browns draft Brantley then threaten to release him

So if I understand this, the Browns took this guy with their 6th round pick, knowing that he was under investigation for assaulting a woman and then threaten to cut him immediately after their selection “pending further investigation”. So they felt that as a first round caliber talent they could take the chance of wasting a later round pick if the case turns against the player and they started to feel the heat from the media and their fans.

Talk about having your cake and eating it too.
