Q: How would you assess your first day as a Giant?
A: It was fun. It's a blessing to be out here. Great chemistry out there. A lot of guys flying around, having fun. Great execution, some things that we need to work on, but overall good day.
Q: What is you first impression of [Davis] Webb?
A: D. Webb is going to be good. He was really comfortable out there. We were rooming together last night, kind of going over stuff together. So it kind of paid off today for sure.
Q: What do you think of the offense?
A: I love it. Especially my position. The Y and U, how much we move around and stuff, puts the defense in binds, finding holes in the defense. It's a great offense, it’s a lot, but I can't wait to really learn it.
Q: Did you play in the backfield at all last year?
A: A little bit of wing stuff, kind of b-gap wing, h-back type stuff, but not fully backfield. Not like that, no.
Q: Mike Sullivan spoke earlier and he kind of rejected the notion that you’re a big wide receiver, he said ‘he’s a tight end’. Meaning, you can play in line, you could do those things. Is that how you think about yourself?
A: If that's what the O.C. says. I'm just trying to do whatever I can to help the team. If that's in line, getting physical, then I'm going to do it. If it's out wide, being a vertical threat, I'm going to do that too.
Q: Is it weird being here, being the number one draft pick?
A: It's not weird. It's something I definitely worked for. Like I said earlier, it's a blessing. Just kind of soaking everything in. It didn't really hit until yesterday and today. Just getting around the facility, getting the jersey, getting the helmet. But it's definitely a blessing.
Q: Anything surprise you, or just different then you thought it was going to be?
A: Not really. I thought I was going to be more nervous. I'm actually really settling in, really excited about learning more and more each and every day.
Q: How much of the playbook have they given you?
A: I just dove into it last night. Like I said, me and D. Webb, were in the hotel room going over stuff. We just dove into it yesterday and today.
Q: Did you get a chance to cross paths with any of the veterans?
A: No. Some were outside, some were in the weight room, and we were moving around. So, I'm looking forward to doing that.
Q: What kind of advice did you get from guys after getting drafted? Did anybody reach out to you?
A: Yes. I talked to Eli [Manning] after I got the call, just telling me to enjoy the moment, have fun, and be yourself when you get here. Just enjoy the moment and put the work in.
Q: What does it mean to get a call from someone like Eli?
A: It's really cool. We worked out together a couple times. Well, I worked out for him. I was servicing him at Oxford a couple of off-seasons. So, to be a part of his team is really cool. It was real cool to talk to him.
Q: Did you get any advice about playing with him?
A: No, not really. I know he's a real humble guy, real hardworking guy, just from what I've seen when he's in Oxford. So, it's similar trying to work with him and trying to work as much as him, to get things rolling.
Q: Did you do some off-season work with Derek Hagan? What kind of advice did he give you? What did he work on with you?
A: With D. Hagan, we definitely worked on a lot of wide receiver stuff. In college, I played more slot. Wasn't really detailed in my routes, so he definitely helped at the top of routes, getting releases. A lot of ball drills. He really helped me a lot. I appreciate him very much for helping me in the process.
Q: How much did you have your hand in the dirt last year?
A: Not a lot. It was a rare occasion. Sometimes, yeah, but mainly it was protection stuff, but not a lot.
Q: Is that something to get used to out here?
A: The curve ball was at the Senior Bowl. I don't think I was in the slot not one time in the Senior Bowl, so I kind of got used to it then. So, it was definitely a little bit easier out here today.
Q: What was it like working with Davis at the Senior Bowl? Did that carry over today?
A: We definitely hit it off at the Senior Bowl. I was hyped when his name came across the ticker for New York on day two. It was definitely pretty cool to get to know him and now we're going to get to play together.
Q: Does Davis throw a nice easy ball to catch?
A: Yeah. He's got some stuff to work on - I'm just kidding, but he's going to be good for us.
I'm pretty sure that McAdoo knows what an H-back is....
