He had a decent career at Wisconsin and looked good at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl. He wouldn't be the first guy who couldn't stick with the first team that gave him a shot, but found a home somewhere else later on.

is exactly the type of RB that you want to develop. Ultra productive small school back with enough size and very good hands.
Here are highlights of Khalid below. I am excited for this kid. Abdullah Highlights - ( New Window )
Very sharp cuts/double moves. Has the ability to bust right through arm tackles and can move the pile. Looks very good in the highlights. Fast runner. If he can block...bonus!
I can verify that Abdullah is a very good back. Of course, it will be a big jump up in competition, and we will see if he is NFL caliber, but I am glad he is getting a chance with us.
was a long shot coming from a Division III school with low playing time. But the fact that he made it that far is a real tribute to someone turning their life around. Check out his story here The Trentonian. He had monster athletic numbers of
Bench press 455 lbs
Squat 705 lbs
Short shuttle: 4.20 (Pro Day)
40 yard dash: 4.33 (tryout with Indianapolis Colts)
Broad Jump: 11.11
Vertical Jump: 41"
I hope he hooks up with some team.
contract in January and then released him after the first day of rookie camp.
Did they just want to lock him up for 4 months just so they could get one little look at the guy?
Giants probably did want to keep him for training camp when they signed him to the futures contract, but if Abdullah looked great and Virgies had an off day, I could see why they went the direction that they did

I see a little Tiki in this kid.
Here's an interview with Trey Robinson at Draft Diamonds
Hence the phrase, "shot at the PS."

Robinson has the look of a potential big nickel down the road. Great size, some ball skills and brings the lumber.

I was going to saw Bradshaw.
Kid looks good. Maybe he can take over for Vereen as a 3rd down back.

But the Giants did sign a bunch of big receivers. So maybe he was just the worst looking of the bunch.

I've 5'10" 194. That makes him the smallest RB on the squad among some not very big RB's.
