I guess his new nickname is MEATLOAF
Although neither McAdoo, nor Mike Sullivan had met Webb

prior to his being drafted by the Giants, rumor has it that they did a lot of research on him.

You can discount the malarkey about his firm handshake and looking you straight in the eye. That's what the Giants want you to believe. What really put Webb over the top was "his extremely neat penmanship. This kid can do it all: printing, cursive, even italics," McAdoo gushed. When he signed his name on his contract, it gave me chills." ;-)

I definitely read in a few places that the Giants liked Webb. Maybe Reese went out of his way to hide his draft intentions this year after what happened last year.

Apparently, this is a zombie meme; it just won't die.

Gallman seems like a funny guy, deadpan kind of.

I like this group of guys. Haven't heard from Biz or Moss yet. But the rooks seem pretty close-nit already.

Can you explain why would anyone need to hide their interest in a potential 3rd rounder?
He may be a QB, but he's still a third round pick.
Devon : 5/14/2017 2:57 pm : link
Not just this year, but in general, how often do teams have that much intensive contact with guys they draft in the third round?
Weren't they supposedly interested in him in the 2nd
jcn56 : 5/14/2017 3:19 pm : link
but opted for DT when he was available? If DT weren't there, there's a chance he's our 2nd round pick.

HAHAHA. LOL.
Firm handshake?

Sullivan is invaluable to this team...
Patience will be the key with Webb

My gut tells me he ends up being inactive all year long unless (God forbid) an injury hits. He is quite raw and needs a lot of work but the arm strength and work ethic are clearly present.

If we got lucky and actually have a future starter I'd be ecstatic, of course, but when a guy is this raw I want to see him in camp before I make any judgments. My hope is he has a pretty deep ball.
my gut tells me Webb will be second string by game 3 of preseason, and

will be challenging Eli for play time by week 6.

I think you're confusing it with Glen Sather's approach for hiring a head coach for the Rangers.

Stupid is as stupid does. If Webb is challenging Eli for playing time in week 6, our season is toast.

The only way Webb sees time this season is if Eli gets hurt (please God no). Based on the Giants overall conservative approach and basic principal, even if Eli looks like Geno, he's playing all year. Never would they give up on him especially at this point. Not sure how much take they'll even get on Webb early on with Geno and Johnson taking snaps as well. I should speak for all GMEN fans by saying you hope you don't see Webb get live action for 2 years at the very least.
