recall a career mis-step by Jeter. Captain after 5-6 years, longest playing career, most games and ABs for a storied ball club that connects all generations of fans.
I guess you forgot Chad Curtis yelling at him for BSing with A-Rod during a Yankees-Mariners brawl.
Update: Chad Curtis and is giant moral compass is doing 7-15 years for sexual advances on underage girls.
in either case, but I'd prefer Jeter's significant other.
Other reasons as have already been pointed out - less likely to develop CTE/have serious medical problems, had a 20 year run as a single guy basically running NYC versus Brady, who was married (assuming he was committed and not fooling around).
Plus, without having done any of the math, I'm pretty sure Jeter made quite a bit more money than Brady has.
I only saw her yesterday, but she kind of seemed bitchy and stuck up. Like she'd rather be anywhere else in the world but at Yankee Stadium.
Jeter was interviewed in the booth during the game last night. He said Hannah grew up in St. Kitts and doesn't know anything about and couldn't care less about baseball.

Brady always seems like a creep to me. Not a kiddie fiddler type of creep, but I could easily see TB12 at some kind of John Galt for Congress rally or joining one of those pseudo religious type organizations with the big time Hollywood actors.
Jeter always seems to me like the coolest guy in the room. He's had extraordinary success but always seems very humble and very professional and very comfortable with himself.
Who really knows though? People are very seldom as they appear. Probably especially true of celebrities.
are people sure the Brady's having a higher net worth? I understand Giselle made a boatload, but DJ probably more than doubled TB's career earnings and as the face of the Yankees, probably surpassed him in endorsements too.
but for whatever reason I find Brady's wife more attractive than Jeter's.
She is a supermodel. Perfect features. Jeter's wife has a pretty face but like the really cute girl who works at Starbucks.
A lot of guys will choose Jeter's wife because she has the better figure and is also way younger.
To be honest, though, I thought Jeter would marry someone better: more intelligent, more charming and better looking. Hannah would be ah great catch lookswise for most of us, but she is well below ost of the women Jeter has been lined to in the past
If for nothing else, as someone mentioned, Jeter will probably have to deal with a lot fewer health issues. I also think his wife is a million times hotter than Gisele. I never saw anything in her. Now granted I wouldn't kick her out of bed or anything, but if we're talking about the hottest women, to me she's nowhere close.
whether you like it or not. This last SB of his was an exclamation point on an already historic career, and he isn't slowing down at all.
Jeter might be my favorite athlete ever, but he's far from the GOAT in his profession. He was the face of the game for a long time and probably one of the 10 best position players of the last 40 or so years, but not in the Brady tier.
That's just my devil's advocate argument since this vote has been so lopsided.
I'd rather be Jeter too. American Baseball players and European Soccer players live the best lives of any athletes. And no baseball player lived a better life than Derek Jeter.
I'd go with Jeter because he has a better long term health prognosis, more game with the ladies, and not married to someone who dresses him up like a Ken doll.
Gisele has a unique look, sharp features that make her great for modeling. But Hannah is just flat out hotter imo.
We all saw that DirecTV commercial that put her on the map. While the rest of the world ordered the TV package, Jeter ordered the smokeshow genie in the commercial.
Anyone who played 20 years in New York and despite tons of media swirl around him and many a game he had to talk to media...he said nothing. Never baited. Never a slip. Never an emotional moment that showed a streak of arrogance or entitlement or threw someone under the bus.
Anyone that under control and self contained ( who also did it while still living well) on their terms is likely to be very successful at living under their terms over the long term
1. You love Boston sports and/or the Patriots
2. You want to be known as one of the top 5 all time and be in the conversation of best period to ever play your sport. Brady is in that conversation in the NFL. Jeter's not even the best Yankee of all time.
you know you're living a charmed life when you make
don't be so sure about that. Tons of rich and accomplished athletes out there, not sure any of them achieved what Jeter did off the field when it came to women. I bet Edelman is better with women than Brady would be, for example.
Brady is too doofy. His wife help prop him up to where he is but Brady seems like a pretty big dork.
Did you see the Astros all watching at the top of the dugout. When Brady retires nobody will be doing that for him. A cheater who served his suspension. Jeters 20 year career not a single mistake. Captain of the most storied franchise in sports. Championships and played a key position on all of those teams. Dated whoever he wanted and married one of the prettiest woman on the planet. He's a legend not just on New York but anywhere. To even compare the two is absurd in my opinion.
by a landslide. He's a guy who was the model of class for a team winning several championships, and his legacy is cemented.
Brady's had several cheating allegations, and still is on the field meaning he could have yet another event slightly tarnish his career. Jeter is done. Moved on.
Also, when it comes to public comments, Jeter never allowed controversy to surface. He maintained the party/team line throughout his career and never had to face scrutiny or suspension for his actions, even in an era where the majority of his peers were cheating to enhance their reputations.
Jeter has class, rings, and is the face of the most famous team in baseball (and some could argue in all US sports).

Riiiiiiiiiggggggghhhht. (Rolls eyes, walks away)
Ehh, its fine to disagree but Brady isn't anything close to Jeter in that department, IMO. He doesn't carry himself the same way, doesn't talk the same way, and certainly can't play the game the same way (I don't think any modern day athlete can); just not in the same class.
There's being rich and famous which gets you whatever you want, and then there's Jeter who isn't the most rich but arguably the most famous (atleast in the US) but handles his fame and its spoils better than anyone.
and if I did it definitely wouldn't be for money they had or women they slept with.
Plus they both seem like dicks.
If I had to pick like there was a gun to my head. It's Brady and it's not close. One is likely to wind up the greatest football player to ever play the game. The other is a baseball player. And not even mentioned among the all time greats of the game. Some say not even He best on his own teams during his career.

Meh, I get it - you're a Jeter fan boi. That's great.
But you dont need to pretend Brady is "a dork" to prove something - the guy married Giselle. The only other guy i know she dated was Dicaprio. She could have had any actor, athlete or successful businessman in the world and she chose him. He's also made cameos in movies and TV shows, other coaches and players have spoken highly of not only his abilities, but also his personality (Peyton just one example).
As for how "he plays the game the same way" - I'm not even sure what this means. Because of a deflated football? Get the fuck out.
And I have it on good sources both guys in their private lives are somewhat cocky (e.g., confident) and seem a little dickish to the common man. Can't say i'm surprised. We also saw how Jeter handled his contract situations last couple of years with the Yankees - in contrast, Brady took below market deals to help his team compete (yes, I know about the shady side business deal -- until the NFL does something about that loophole, good for them for exploiting)
Jeter going through supermodels for a decade and leaving gift-baskets (seems a little immature) somehow makes him a better man than Brady starting a family with a supermodel?
I guess I dont personally see one as alpha over the other. Both have lived pretty fuckin' incredible lives. And "CTE" for Brady in his late years? I mean i guess we'll see, but Brady played QB not middle linebacker. It's not like he gets his clock cleaned often.

What? Isn't this a stupid subjective debate? In my personal onion Brady comes off as a huge dork, nothing more nothing less. I actually applaud him getting married and handling everything that comes with the territory of 2 incredibly famous people for almost a decade. He might have had one last year and has had a few over his nearly 20 year career.
That means he's getting CTE? You don't find that to be a stretch.
Jeter broke his ankle one year - should i say I'd rather not be jeter and have to be rolled around in a wheelchair late in life?
Maybe he's discussed it with his wife before, just a wild shot in the dark. Is that a conversation you can't see a husband and wife having?
I don't know how many concussions Brady has or if he has any early CTE symptoms, but some of these posts act like his wife is on a need to know basis with everything when their relationship, atleast publicly, largely looks like she has a fair say in what goes on in their lives.
the decline we've seen of several high-profile NFL'ers, it isn't that big of a stretch. Hey, he's only had a few concussions - I'm sure he'll live to be 94 and do calculus for kicks!

It's a vague memory, maybe? lol I don't follow the Yanks extremely closely. Only casually.

I think the Jeter Dating Diamond is wrong. The way I hear it, they were all pitchers.
