CC vs Hammel
This is a good series to get back on track. The Royals have 2 good pitchers in Vargas (Wed) and Duffy (Thurs), but their hitting has not been good this season.
minors note: Blake Rutherford is starting to get hot in A ball.
He is hitting .290 with .375 obp in 33 games. He hit his first HR this season. He has 19 runs and 15 rbi's. He also has 6 SB.
Our future outfield of RF Judge, Frasier CF, Rutherford LF?? I know he has a few years to go but he is only 20 but 2020 would be a good year to expect him.
Are you hoping we can get some pitching tonight?

The best Yankee minor league OF is Fowler. Both he and Frazier are rule 5 eligible after this year. 2018 40 man is going to be clogged with OF unless they trade someone.

The only active hitter on Yankees batting below .260 is Chris Carter. Active hitters on NYY roster are batting a combined. .288 (327-1137)
Bingo. Fowler may be a legit CF option going forward.
As for CC tonight, I'm hoping for the best but...
Time for Judge to park one in the water
Breaking ball seems to have life, even if they did get some wood on the ball. Wow, they are aggressive at swinging the bat.

How the hell did he stab that? He must have been playing 4 inches off the line.
lol, well good for Carter....
He ain't getting off that easy. Come on, now.
That ball was only 11 ft shorter than Snachez's? Sanchez went true straight center and bounced off the concrete wall?
We let Robbie go for this shit?
We let Robbie go for this shit?
Yep, but saved $90 mill...

too bad Ellsbury can't get out of his own way.

Best second-baseman in team history and we decided to overpay for a light-hitting outfielder? After watching Jeter's ceremony it stings even more.
I agree. Loved Robbie, but 10 yrs 240 mill is just crazy. Compared to Ellsbury it might be good, though.
RBI single for Ells, 6-0 now.
his pitch count is only 63, so yeah ...

Even Ellsbury getting involved. Throw CC in the 7th, I assume?

^^^^this.
No, that was Nick Markakis.
Too bad, he seemed to run out of gas middle of that inning.
rRling on the field - no catch, Carter caught off first - first and third, one out. Replay - catch was made, Gardner out, Didi back to 2nd - first and second, one out. Never seen one quite like it.
7-0 but we are raking.

looks kind of disgusting.

It was about 10 minutes ago - you had to see it ... I like BBQ as much as anyone but this stack (they were showing BBQ at the stadium) was on the gross side.

It WAS frackin disgusting. Mediocre ribs on wonderbread with some slop tossed on top? Right. Pass.
Just like an ump that calls Judge out on a pitch clearly inside just to get the game done.

Can someone explain what they're saying abou t this challenge?

Thanks. It seemed like a weird play to challenge. Didn't know if they were hoping for a DP. Taking Gardner off the bases and moving the guy on third back to second makes sense to challenge for though.
Here's Holder now.

I was questioning your taste. It wasn't disgusting. Guess you don't like BBQ.
I think it was at a famous rib house, not the stadium. But, they could keep the bread.
Thank god the umps didn't do that then. Ugh. I can't stand illegitimate uses of replay. It's bad enough as is.
About as good as people on Yankee threads bitching about Girardi for no particular reason.
Go Yanks!!

benches Carter tomorrow after he finally puts together a multi-hit game?

Literally incrrdullous at this phenomenon. Girardi is a top 3 manager in baseball and he gets shit on by Yanks fans here. The waters he has been asked to navigate the past 7/8 seasons have been tumultuous to say the least.
lol ... KC is actually facing some tough decisions as to what to do with those guys who won the WS - contracts coming up and they're not getting younger, and some of them aren't hitting either.
Best defensive left side of the infield in baseball, though - it could easily have been 10-0 last night. Vargas will be tough tonight, though. I expect we'll see Hicks, but not sure for who ...
Ignore my comment then.
Don't call me stupid and mis-represent my post.
If the Yankees lose tonight, they should just call it a season and start rebuilding again.
No sweep and no message is sent to the rest of the league. Season over.

since KC has won a World Series sooner than we have, we NEEDED to win this game 10-0 to send a message.

Might as well trade all the current prospects, too, since they'll be tainted by the cowardly display of not sweeping. Tonight's game might be the most important since 2009.
