NFT: Fredericksburg, VA restaurant recommendations needed

NYGmen58 : 5/17/2017 8:56 am
Heading down there for a family event over memorial day weekend and will be staying right in downtown. We get in Friday night around and are looking for a good place for late dinner when we get in.

Please note, we won't have a car Friday night so it will have to be right in the downtown area, walking distance from the train station and Marriott.

It will just be the lady and I so looking for something on the nicer side considering the rest of the weekend will be big family dinners, BBQ's etc. What are some good fine dining options with great food?

Le Petite Auberge, Bistro Bethem, and Cork & Table seem to get nice reviews. Can anyone speak to these places or offer other/better suggestions?
If you'd like to try something different,

The Bavarian Chef is an authentic German restaurant. Its very good. Set in the old train station and they have live music sometimes. I love the atmosphere there. And no one will leave there hungry.

Sedona is a pretty good option for a bit of everything. They have a variety of dishes - steak, chicken, pizza. And loads of options if you like beer.

Fahrenheit 132 has really good steak, as does Firebirds.

Castiglia's is a nice little Italian place.

You will have a great time in the Burg

I have lived here almost my entire life. Restaurants are great but we do have an old style butcher shop that you will need to visit. I know someone is grilling!! Olde Town Butcher (401 William St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401.) If you have a family and pizza is a choice try Benny Vitali's (722 Caroline St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401) and for dinner I suggest Spencer Devon Brewing. (106 George St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401) Food is great and it is a very nice spot right by the river. Dessert Carl's Ice Cream (2200 Princess Anne St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401) Goolrick's Pharmacy for a milkshake and an old time soda fountain. (901 Caroline St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401) All of the restaurants that the other post mentioned are great as well I was just giving some different choices too!

I love that butcher shop -- they have the world's best bacon -- and our favorite restaurant in Fredericksburg, Kybecca, is right across the street (Williams St) - I didn't post it because the op needs to be in walking distance of downtown and this is more of a drive from where he is
Peter Chang's.

graduate, albeit 20+ years ago. Reading all these places makes me want to check them out. As a college kid there back then it was basically Irish Brigage, Spanky's, Parthenon, Ryan O'Briens, etc...

I've been corrected -- by margi -- he says that Kybecca is just a few blocks from where the op is staying --so what I'm gonna tell you is -- that's my favorite eating place in Fredericksburg -- and even better they got fresh ersters
