NFT: LaVar Ball wants $3B for shoe deal

AnishPatel : 5/17/2017 7:02 pm
Is this guy off his rocker?! No company will pay 3 billion dollars for his damn brand! The initial asking price to make a deal with he first pitched his idea to the companies was 1 billion dollars!

I disagree. At this point I think most Knicks fans would love that deal. Half of them thing Melo is a net negative and the other half want to see a 'real' rebuild. What better way to accomplish the latter then getting Fultz/Ball to pair with KP/Willy. And if (more like when) they struggle in 2017/18, they'll get another high pick next year to add to the mix.

People may be talking about the asshole but nobody is buying. And they won't buy because some slob is running around like a fool.

The shit isn't working. Nobody will buy the shoes unless the kid hits the league like Lebron. And that won't happen.

He'll be gone soon.

Advertising and publicity aren't just about immediate sales. He's building hype around the brand and if he (the son) hits the ground running, you'll likely see more sales down the line thanks to the free publicity.

Lonzo Ball

can play any position. He only plays point guard because that's what Lavar wants.

example of what's wrong with society these days. Even though most people think he's an unbearable jackass, they will listen to what he has to say and they will follow him on Twitter and elsewhere despite the fact he's a greedy asswipe grandstanding at the expense of his children.

He's also an example that no matter how shitty a person comes off, they will have some supporters. Why? I have no fucking clue.

Agree 10000%. This is a huge part of what's wrong with society. Stupid shitheads like Lavar Ball, Kanye West, the Kardashians... all contribute nothing to society and yet the news will report on every move they make...and what's worse, they have followers who eat their shit up. It's a vicious cycle that must end. I don't hate those people as much as I hate their "fans" and the news outlets that report on them ad nauseam.

I think a lot of it is wish fulfillment. People who support a character like Ball probably just fantasize about themselves behaving in a similar fashion, or use their imagination to substitute someone they dislike as a target of Ball's derision.
I dunno

As far as contributing something to society (whether you like it or dislike it), one of those things is decidedly not like the other.

Could be, but what exactly are they aiming for? Living vicariously through their kids?

Kanye is a joke. An attention-whoring joke. He thrives off of attention because it feeds his massive ego.

And he's legitimately looney. He's mentally ill and his so-called "fans" are enablers to his lunacy. If they gave two shits about him, they would ignore his incoherent ramblings and pay them no mind. But at this point, they're essentially laughing at his grandiosity.
I think Lavar Ball is a complete piece of junk, but
shockeyisthebest8056 : 5/18/2017 2:02 pm : link
I thought Leahy's comments about him being abusive with ZERO concrete evidence to support it was way out of line. Unless she's clueless, she had to expect there was going to be blowback from that by Ball.
Crazy like a fox.

I've never so much as raised my voice at neither of my parents... mainly because I ain't stupid. My dad's a bit smaller than me... and deep down I think I could probably take him... but he's the only man on this planet that I'm scared of... and there's no close second. My biological mom... who's passed some years ago... I was even more afraid of. I'd probably test my pops before her. When I was probably about 5 or 6 I once saw her tell a lady at the doctor's office that was sitting behind a desk and a glass plate that she'll reach through that glass and beat the shit out of her if they didn't take me in the back to see me. Needless to say, I was pretty much immediately taken to the back. Mom's was no joke.

That said, my father never acted like a jackass like this one does. So it's possible I might've gotten into it with him over this. I honestly don't know.

That's the exact interview I was talking about. I forget if it was on Colin, but I had a really bad feeling about the guy, and this was before he started making noise with the media. I hope something happens to this guy after what he said about Kyrie's mother.

What'd he say about Kyrie's mother? I did a quick Google search and all I found it him saying Kyrie didn't have kids so he (Kyrie) shouldn't comment on how he raises his kids (which is wrong because Kyrie had a kid either last year or the year before).
LMAO!!!

“Kyrie, he’s in a different situation. So you can’t put yourself in the same situation as Lonzo,” Ball said. “I have a wife and two other sons. You not in that situation, his was different. Now, he couldn’t wait to break away from his dad. Why? Because you guys was needy back then. My boy’s not needy, he does whatever he wants. Just like I do whatever I want.

“So you can’t put yourself in that situation and say, ‘Oh, from my experience.’ Maybe he didn’t have the relationship that me and ‘Zo got. I don’t think he did. First of all, your mom wasn’t there. Something’s got to change right there, it’s not the same.

“Lonzo can come home and see his mom and dad all the time. Most people, with his talent, usually has a single parent. Not two of them together and be involved.”

It should be noted that Kyrie's mother died when he was 4.

I know it's tough, but you have to separate the kid from the father. I think Lonzo is a good kid, who happens to have an overbearing father. Once he gets his ink, gets to know NBA culture, I think you'll see him start to get a backbone. He'd be an awesome fit in Philly with Embiid, and Simmons.

I love this picture. He's trying to be a cool musician, playing the guitar and singin the blues. On the road, trying to make a living with his band - singing about women, love, heartbreak and tough times.

Meanwhile, swinging from his wrist is a $30,000 Rolex.

What a dickbag.
