already determining Webb will be trash and all us fans who clearly are cheering for him to replace Eli right now are befuddled.

With respect to QB D. Webb, we drafted him as a project player with upside as he has a very strong arm. I didn't realize he was projected as a 2nd round pick. But no way he is anything more than an inactive 3rd QB this year as he watches and learns. We won't truly know about his abilities until maybe next year, next camp.

I'm hoping DT D. Tomlinson wins the starting DT job outright with OWA rotating in as a 3rd and long interior pass rusher. Bromley is the backup swing tackle who will give the starting DT's breathers from time to time.

Finally, I believe Spags defense will come out of the gates strong this year. It will be especially strong if FS D. Thompson returns to form and FS Adams improves (he'll get snaps) along with SS N. Behre, CB Apple and any other youngsters who may make the team.

On paper, we have one of the league's top 5 DL's and Top 3 DB's. Our linebacking corps may even be "average" by NFL standards which is more than enough given our other talented groups.
