is that even if Tomlinson goes on to have a HOF career, the article correctly points out that it would be extremely unusual for a rookie 2nd rd DT to be able to make much difference.
I'm optimistic about him, but wouldn't be surprised to see him benched either to start or at some point along the way.
Miami should be hot after Wilfork to play next to Suh.
It's speculative but I like the idea of Wolfork even though we have Tomlinson.
Snacks and Wolfolk have to be double teamed every play. By the OL or a man left in the backfield. I suspect the pressure upfield would be from Snacks at this point in Wolfolk's career. The third and ones and fourth and inches calculations of every opponent would drive them to riskier plays and or punting. Somewhere along the way in a long season there is a goal line stand or two that changes a game outcome.
Most of all those two with fresh legs from DT set a tone that fires up the defense and takes chunks out of opponents momentum and psychology.
Fun to play GM for a minute. But I doubt it happens

play good football and has room for one more SB ring.
Not sure how much Vince has left. Could he play 20 to 25 snaps a game? Yeah, but he ain't the guy of 5 or more years ago.
We really need DT Bromley to finally step up and at least be serviceable. We also need OWA to be a viable inside pass rusher on obvious passing downs. That is asking a lot given neither has done much to date. That leaves us pinning our hopes on a rookie 2nd round DT, Tomlinson, who I think will be serviceable as a rookies given his experience from ALABAMA and strength.
I think losing Hankins for 2017 hurts. I'd rather have cut Bromley and kept Hankins or something like that. I think Hankins is a bit over-rated, yes, but he will turn only 26 this year and knows the defense. We'd have been better off with him but alas it was not to be.
This is the former Patriots the Giants Should Consider Signing

For Wilfork, it would be going back home.
