BREAKING: One person dead after car jumped sidewalk in New York's Times Square and struck pedestrians - NBC News http://www.cnbc.com/2017/05/18/car-crashes-into-times-square-sidewalk-striking-pedestrians.html
3 female strippers and assorted male friends set up an inflatable pool, ferns and chairs, and proceed to undress down to g string - bottoms only and do a promotion of some kind.
Now, mea culpa, who doesn't love strippers, dancers and the ladies? I mean, I don't spend money on that, because that money is much better spent on kids clothing, tutors and food.
But hate? Nah. How can you? But.....
But this is a little close to a few schools.
In addition, 5 police cars parked nearby, some with 10'-15' feet of the pool.
Same thing, nobody loves and supports the police more than I do "Blue Lives Matter" is my motto when people get loud, and I am not afraid to say it.
But, guys, is this what our middle school kids need to see during lunch break? C'mon man.

The New York Police Department says the crash does not appear to be terrorism-related. The driver, a 26-year-old man, is in custody and has a history of arrests for impaired driving.

This just pisses me off. I understand maybe 1 DUI ( went to a ballgame and had 1 beer to many and was just over the legal limit). However, after 2 DUI's you should lose your license for life.

That may well be the case, but I'd rather they wait until a more thorough investigation takes place before they comment, in any way, about motive.
Why? If they pull a stinking drunk out of a car and he has multiple DWIs in his past, why is it inappropriate to make a preliminary assessment and calm people down who might think it is terrorism?
I get wanting to avoid spreading false information. But sometimes police know what they're looking at.

And what happens if the look at his computer and find multiple links to ISIS websites? Also, while he might have had DUI convictions in the past (hence testing him) I haven't read the results of the breathilizer yet. If they release results showing a .25 they'd be on stronger ground.
And what happens if the look at his computer and find multiple links to ISIS websites?
Then they'll investigate that and pursue charges if the evidence supports it. Just as they would've done if there hadn't been a statement about it looking like a drunk driving incident. They've hardly closed off any further avenues of investigation by making a fairly simple statement about what it looks like.

Doesn't mean they wouldn't still drive.
I agree. If they do give them prison time.
Operating a licensed machine that is one brain-fart from being a weapon is a privilege. I really wish it would be regulated strictly.

So the police DIDN'T pull a stinking drunk out of the car. Could be road rage, could be any number of causes. But the quick and easy and INSTANT explanation is once again out the window.

There are people in the world that hope it's terrorism in cases like this and not some junkie high on synthetic shit. Odd mindset...
Alternatively, there are people who are willing to wait less than 24 hours for some sort or reasonable investigation to take place. What can't be denied is that the instant knee jerk explanation, as with a number of these incidents, was once again wrong.

The "instant knee-jerk reaction" of this asshole driving impaired was wrong because it was PCP or K2 instead of booze? Ok. Carry on...
This isn't terrorism because he's white guy from NY who would labeled a Christian. If the driver was high on PCP of middle eastern decent it would be terrorism and there would be Tweets about the need for extreme vetting. It would make for nonstop coverage on Fox. In the end it's just an asshole who is high or mentally ill regardless of his heritage.

Looks like that car was doing some speed. Hoping everyone who was there makes it through.
