Wonder Woman is the DC movie I've been waiting for. It's exciting, inspiring, funny, and has some truly awe-inspiring action scenes. Happy to report 'Wonder Woman' is a blast and @GalGadot is fantastic. Her chemistry with Chris Pine is magnetic. Absolutely recommended. Best part of ‘Wonder Woman’ is the film has really funny parts and an optimistic and heroic protagonist. Great step forward for DC Films. I'm now allowed to reveal I enjoyed Wonder Woman! It's really good. Has the heart & humanity DCEU needed. I'm not reviewing it FYI @WonderWomanFilm is everything you want in a #WonderWoman movie & more. It's the film even DCU critics will love. #WonderWoman is the best DCEU film so far. The heart of Gal Gadot's Diana powers it, and the shift from mythic into WWI story really works. Chris Pine as Steve Trevor is also my favorite Chris Pine performance. #WonderWoman. Loved WONDER WOMAN. She reminds me of Christopher Reeve's Superman: true north superhero w/ no angst or cynicism, which is needed right now. |
I dunno, I really wanted to like Batman v. Superman just because it had Batman in it, but it was one of the stupidest movies I have seen in a long time.
It is not hard to see the massive quality difference between the Marvel movies and DC movies. A big part, to me, is that the DC movies have pushed a faux-dark tone that just has not landed well.
The trailers for Wonder Woman lookee good and reviews are good, so the wife and I will go watch and hope for the best!
Really? It hasn't even come out yet.
Anyway, I know I'll be watching Wonder Woman and I'll probably enjoy it. Hopefully it's not edited down to practically nothing like BvS and Suicide Squad were.
Man Of Steel was bad. Batman vs Superman was worse. Suicide Squad was a total dumpster fire.
There's no anti-DC bias. Everyone loved the Nolan movies...because they were good movies.
People like Marvel movies because they're generally pretty good. They're fun. They have good character beats. They make sense, from a storytelling perspective. The DCEU hasn't delivered on any of those things so far.

That's what I get for posting at 2 AM. Meant Batman vs. Superman.
i think the same. They are two different tones.
that said
the plot looks pretty much like Captain America First Avenger

As someone who has never watched a Superman film, I really enjoyed Man Of Steel. Suicide Squad, as much as I hate to admit, was awful.
And I should amend, I think the DCEU films always get shit on because they're not MCU films.
As much as I loved Civil War, I don't think the story made any sort of sense. The premise is based on characters randomly aligning themselves just to fight...and then apologizing immediately succeeding the fight. How that's not perceived as being forced, I don't know.

One of the things that I always thought was kind of funny was that one of the big criticisms people had of Batman v Superman was the whole"Martha" scene. Then basically a month later Iron Man fights Captain America and Bucky because "he killed my mom" and it doesn't get an ounce of criticism.
I hated the fact they wasted a good villain like Baron Zemo and an army of Super Soldiers too. its all about the $ Same reason GOTG 2 is so Kid friendly and Disney like with again Family issues.
Batman Vs Superman could have been great the problem was giving it to a Snyder and getting another Watchmen.
I mean all of his movies are visually stunning, but they aren't really anything special when it comes to the story.
