Everyone seems relatively concerned about our secondary depth (or if not concerned at least wants to see us add another guy to the CB room).
So, I'm wondering about a guy like Bennett Jackson, our draft pick from 2014 who didn't pan out due to injury. The guy seems high character and hard working. If I remember correctly, he was going to be the starting FS in 2015 before injuries derailed his season.
Anyway, he seems like he'd be a great guy to revisit. He's versatile (can play FS or CB) and knows our defense as well as anyone not on the team. He'd also be a good story. The guy has been working his heart out trying to come back after we dropped him last offseason. Anyone else a fan of seeing him back in blue? He came to mind after I perused Jordan Raanan's instagram and saw he posted a video of Jackson running a 40 yard dash on a practice field somewhere:
Bennett running a '4.32' NJ.com Article on Jackson - (

I was looking him up more earlier. I was impressed with how fast he is. He probably runs a real 4.4. So, I don't know that he'd be too far out of his depth outside either. He played outside CB at UND. He's probably better suited to the slot, but I think he could be really versatile in a doomsday scenario.
Lol. Quite the hyperbole...
He isn't injured. He was injured in 2015. It's been over a year, and he's fully healed.
And he was going to be the starting FS in 2015. So, I suppose you could call his position FS if you want. But, he probably could play more than one position. I would think that'd be nice for a guy coming off the bench. Saying "[he] has no real position" is a really odd way of framing that.
I'm not into bringing in beat up guys, per se, but he is still young and his injuries didn't seem career threatening?
Not that I saw.
You beat me to it Joey.
I love it too. And the magical thing is every once in a while - against great odds - one of these guys works out.

when every undrafted guy we sign is going to surprise and become an All-Pro, and guys who never made it through training camp healthy, and never made any actual plays, might somehow become the great if only given one more chance.

Yeah too bad Bennett Jackson wasn't the one!!!

I'm not here to argue for Jackson. His chances are slim to... almost none.
Don't care if you root against him either.
But why?
Personally, I'm hoping that the Giants cut bait with more oft-injured guys like Nat Berhe and Mykkele Thompson. No need to bring another one back in.

I'm not rooting against Bennett Jackson. I'm rooting against the segment of BBI that thinks that bringing in a guy who has never played any snaps in a regular season game, who has torn acls in both his knees, who no other team wants, is somehow a positive answer going forward. Change for the sake of change is dumb, and bringing this guy back - to likely only see him get hurt - takes a roster spot away from someone else, it's zero sum.
