What makes Francesa so amusing isn't that he gets the occasional name wrong (shoot, I'd probably forget some too), but rather his steadfast refusal to ever admit when he's wrong.
As in when he tried to claim he just didn't understand that caller because he only knows him as Alberto Albuquerque...
Now, for some names he just doesnt care enough to get it right...like Mike Holmgrum
I'm obviously from out of town but this is the 20th year I've been on BBI and I've consistently read (and watched) things over the years that paint Francessa as an obstinate, know-nothing, blowhard.
What I'm dieing to know is why do you guys pay attention to him? It seems like it's the same thing as ESPN; people saying dumb sensationalist bullshit with little to no substance yet people regurgitate it to family, friends, and message boards justifying and perpetuating it's existence.
I encounter stupid loudmouths in real life and I don't engage them or seek them out for more of their wisdumb (sorry i had to). Why has this guy lasted this long and why do you like him? Is there a whole other side that these thousand plus posts over the years completely miss?
