NFT: How historic has Lebron's postseason been?

Canton : 5/19/2017 6:42 pm
Just look at these numbers:

Quote:
LeBron has scored 35 or more points in his past five playoff games, a level that's been reached only twice in the past 25 years, according to STATS LLC: by Shaq in 2002 and LeBron in 2009 (when he was eight years younger). A sixth would tie Jerry West (1965) and Bernard King (1983) for the longest streak in the past 50 years.

LeBron has scored 30 or more in seven consecutive playoff games, just one shy of Michael Jordan's record. He's also just 103 points from passing Jordan (5,987) as the all-time leading playoff scorer.

Quote:
LeBron James joined Kobe Bryant and Karl Malone as the only 11-time first-team All-NBA selections in history on Thursday, after a season in which he averaged 26.4 points, 8.7 assists and 8.6 rebounds in a league-leading 37.8 minutes per game.

Somehow he's playing even better in the playoffs.
James is averaging 34.8 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.1 assists, shooting 43.4 percent on threes as the Cavs have won their first nine games.

and the numbers don't stop there. Look at the rest of the slideshow in the link..

I don't know, it's not official until MoM chimes in.

I despise the NBA right now, but will probably tune in to see LeBron to go against the entire Warriors team.
He's playing some of the best ball of his career.

was insane. Followed by a nice lob pass and then a 3. He is absolutely dominating.
He's putting the work in

to be in the same discussion as GOAT with Jordan. If he can maintain this level of play for a few more seasons, how can you not.

None of this matters. His performance in the 2011 Finals nullifies anything he's done since.
hes smart too

You're talking about a forward who's putting up an assist average most point guards would kill for. That's just amazing.
Maybe this thread was a bit premature?

Not that Celtics will win because they won't. They are severely outmatched

But maybe it's a bit early to start talk of the greatest Post of all time after the early rounds?
it seemed like from the get go

LeBron was taking a backseat to Love and Kyrie to let them try and impose their will on the game, which worked like gangbusters, but by the time the Celtics made their run in the 4th, it was tough for him to turn it on.

I actually think it is a smart strategy. Thus far, the postseason for the Cavs have been LeBron playing at a superhuman level and controlling all aspects of the game.

But when they face the Warriors, which I think everyone expects to happen, that won't be enough to beat that super team. LeBron will need Kyrie and Love to play great, confident basketball. So having games like last night, where he lets them take over will bear fruit in the next series.

They still should have come away with the win, though.
