What have you tried cilantro in that put you off so much?

It's a staple in authentic mexican food and pho. You can barely tell that it's even in the dish.
For a percentage of the population cilantro tastes like soap. I'd notice the taste of soap in my food, even just a little.

Wow ... that's weird. Soap always tasted like parsley to me.
Forget use in Mexican food
Indian food shops have
A cilantro ( coriander) chutney that is fAbulous- on fish, chicken or mixed with yogurt as an awesome dip for roasted potatoes
Best friggin stuff on earth
I've had a lifelong battle with cilantro. It tastes like soap to me and is so strong that it overpowers whatever it's in for me unless it's in a very faint quantity or really old.
It's a shame because I love Mexican food and pho and banh mi sandwiches.
Julia Child hated it too. IIRC, it's tried to coriander which gets its name from the Greek word for bed bug
My mother and two brothers love it. Confirmed genetics. Also, same thing why people love/hate durian. I think it tastes delicious and don't mind the smell. I'm told it smells like cat piss to those who can't stand it.
When there was a Baja Fresh near where I work (sadly, it closed) one of my favorite lunches was their pinto bean and cheese burrito. They have the bar where you can add as much cilantro and salsa as you wanted to it. The loaded-up burrito and the nacho chips that come with it made for a very tasty and very affordable lunch. I wouldn't even have to have dinner those nights. Mmmm, I miss Baja Fresh - I don't live near one.
What does Led Zeppelin have to do with this?
Call it back. Tell it I said it wishes it was oregano.

Well, you should be.
And no, you can't call me Klat.
And for the record, I don't like asparagus, either.

And it sucks that this is a thing. My dad and sister are both infected with this shit, so I don't grow it in da herb garden.
I really enjoy it as a sweeter alternative to parsley when it's fresh. But, no more...

Okay - never again with the shortened version of your name ....sorry.
I was with you on asparagus until a few years ago when I had it grilled. Grilled Asparagus is much better than the boiled kind. Try it.

I don't like asparagus and I'm not going to try it grilled or any other way, and you can't make me. YOU CAN'T MAKE ME!

Alright ... alright. Not trying to force anyone to do anything they don't want to.
: )
Btw, you'd be better served with a shotgun
Which does your husband prefer?
HA! I kill me.
