But I think he has a country. Legally he's free to return home. He's just not free to travel on a Turkish passport.
Under US law, a passport is not a god-given right. They can revoke/deny it for a number of reasons, including child support arrears, tax delinquency, sex offenses, Link - ( New Window )
I'm no expert but I don't think so. Thus, as stated above, I think the green card keeps him in the US legally but I don't think he can travel internationally until he becomes a citizen and gets a US passport.

Yeah, he has a country- one that wants to jail him for his opinions and political views. So, why would he return home?
RE: RE: With a green card he should be fine in the US
of the freedom we have in the US. We can call out our political leaders without fear of formal reprisal.
Which is why, regardless of political leanings, the protests with people claiming the US is a "fascist state" should make you laugh. Were this an actual fascist state, merely claiming so would get you thrown into a dirt-floor prison cell, albeit only briefly, before you were summarily executed without trial and buried in a shallow, unmarked grave.

What are you talking about? You said a green card doesn't replace a passport, which I agreed with. You also said a green card takes years to obtain, which I pointed out is irrelevant since he already has a green card. His problems are hardly entirely solved, but the timeframe to get a green card isn't among them.
But not on this message board.
Aside from getting beaten at their rallies.

We could if people could discuss things without regressing into children. But that doesn't seem to be possible

While it's true that it doesn't replace a passport, obtaining one is irrelevant as he has one.
