The filmmaker's daughter died by suicide in March, prompting him to take a break from work and hire Joss Whedon to finish the Warner Bros. superhero pic: "I’ve decided to take a step back from the movie to be with my family, be with my kids, who really need me."

Finally some one who has a clue how to do a Super Hero movie!

What took Warner Brothers so long? Whedons first "Avengers" is one of the best Comic Movies of all time.

DC just a got a huge shot in the Arm.
Wow
Jay on the Island : 5/22/2017 7:13 pm : link

What took them so long? Jesus man, try reading the OP.
I am sorry for Zack and condolences

But the man replacing him is a huge step up in direction(and I don't just mean camera angles). DC Fanboys will love this.
Whedon is good at things that have missing like Continuity and Plot Character development, not to mention some humor.
Just push back the release date
River : 5/22/2017 7:37 pm : link
and Let Joss put it together. He is already writing scenes because the Zack thought it needed more. Or do they want another rushed dumpster fire like Suicide Squad?

Odd that Whedon agreed to do this. He wanted a break after Avengers 2 because of the pressure of putting together a movie with multiple heroes. Now he is back with even more pressure to replicate the success of Marvel.

I heard the same thing about Whedon. I guess the money was too good to pass up.
I have interviewed Snyder, but can't say I know him.

I can't even imagine what he's going through. I have a daughter near that age, and I don't even want to think about it.

That's true about Whedon. He said he had a mental breakdown over it.

As to why he's doing this, this is probably more about helping out a friend in need.
When you get a bunch of Stars and they start

to count their screen time instead of just acting as a part of a whole (like Avengers) you have Avengers 2 Waste of Ultron err Age of Ultron.

And this is based on what?

All of this stuff about Whedon stepping in is also probably being vastly overblown. I seriously doubt he's coming in to re-work the film to the extent that you guys are hoping.

It's a huge challenge for any writer and director to service a bunch of characters in a movie. It's been a problem for the Star Trek movies, too, but those movies didn't have a bunch of characters and actors who'd each starred in their own standalone features.

A lot of things were set in motion seedy
A lot of things were set in motion already

with this film. If it's terrible then Snyder still owns it. If it's good then Whedon will get all the credit for rescuing it. He has no pressure.

Sorry for last post - auto correct plus accidentally pressed send on my phone.
Such a terrible tragedy for the Snyder family

But also what great luck for WB to be able to hand this off to someone (Whedon) who has a proven track record with Avengers
I'm so sorry to hear this.

My 15 yr old daughter committed suicide this past September. I haven't posted about it until now. No words to describe it...

Holy crap - my deepest sympathies. Hope you can find some peace somehow.
Thank you.

For me, grief counseling and support groups have been helpful. But nothing changes what happened, I just try to understand and accept it.

I have been though a family members suicide so I can understand some of what you are going through although no
one can truly understand it.
All I can say to you is Time with time you will heal.
You may never get over it but you will learn to deal with it.
Just take it day by day and lean on your faith for strength. As long as we carry those we love in our hearts we never lose them. Take care.
