Right up to this point I've been willing to excuse everything...But this is not good..

Most of the Giants assembled on Monday for the first Organized Team Activity (OTA) of the offseason, but there was one notable exception. Star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was not in attendance, according to a person familiar with the situation.
The 10 OTA sessions that will take place over the next three weeks are voluntary. But it's no secret that coaches would prefer to have the entire team in attendance as the installation of the offensive and defensive playbook begins.
It's unclear why Beckham missed Monday's session or if he plans to attend future OTAs. The next OTA is scheduled for Tuesday and Thursday's OTA is the first session open to the media.
It's not known exactly how many of the voluntary workouts Beckham attended during the five weeks of the offseason program that preceded OTAs, but he was not a regular participant, according to a person familiar with the situation. He also missed informal workouts organized by quarterback Eli Manning at Duke University in early April because he reportedly had oral surgery.

Missed the first OTA workout? Fucking inexcusable. He's a distraction and a liability.
You're a dipshit
He was being sarcastic.

go to your voluntary work functions and training seminars?
Maybe some of you should apply the same expectations to yourself as you do with star athletes you never met.
What a terrible analogy to compare everyday working stiffs to star athletes. OBJ is getting 1.8 MM this year. If any ordinary working American was offered 1.8 MM for a year, they would do anything their employer asked voluntary or involuntary.
Any ordinary American has 40-50 years to carve out a career, and many are not as skilled in their own specialties as NFL stars are in theirs. Most of the "any ordinary American" set are fungible; players on Beckham's level are not.
I think if you apply those factors back to the NFL players (and their salaries - and bonuses, since I know you get hung up on the distinction), the analogy actually holds up pretty well.
He is showing up tomorrow. Again, no link.
