Didn't realize headleys average has dropped as much as it has. Hopefully it's a matter of time before Torres takes over.
Duffy really pissed me off last time.
bceagle05 : 5/23/2017 6:29 pm : link
Hope we clobber him. Sanchez could use a two-HR.
Headley's on pace for 30+ errors too.
bceagle05 : 5/23/2017 6:30 pm : link
Torres is playing third and batting third tonight in his AAA debut.
Torres playing third tonight?
B in ALB : 5/23/2017 6:32 pm : link
Headley's days are indeed numbered. He's going to get flipped in a package for a starter within the next two months I'd think.

Holliday is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite

vet free agent guys the Yanks have ever brought in

I feel a little bad for Headley - he had a nice few weeks, then quickly remembered he's Chase Headley.

I'm guessing All-Star break for Torres?

But we're paying him $12 million this year, so I don't feel too bad
Ahh, no Sanchez - sorry.

I can't believe that any food at Metrotown is "good". You must have been eating with your eyes. Vancouver has much to offer in that regard.

I'd love to find someone to take him but I don't see him adding value to a package for a starter who is appreciably better than Cessa/Green. I think he will be a throw-in.

For now let's just hope Torres didn't rolled his ankle playing 3B.

If Montgomery throws that pitch consistently to the hands of righty hitters he will be a solid big league starter. His stuff is OK but not dominating so he needs location with a specific pitch to righties

The umps need to judge Judge's strikezone better. They keep calling too many pitches at his ankles because that is where normal men have their knees.

He has got to start covering that pitch. He seems to get called out at least once per game on that low outside strike. Just needs to poke one down the line a few times to protect against that being a called third strike.

Batting coaches need to work on Judge with those low pitches. Pitchers will keep throwing that low pitch if he refuses to swing at them, especially with two strikes.

To be fair, I perused the thread in question, all the comments about Judge were reasonable. He is being anointed based on a small sample size, and he's now facing a second time through the league when teams have a few weeks of ABs to study on film and look for holes/weaknesses.

HRs aside, he's maintaining a good BA and OBP and still showing patience, which is all very good. And he's proving better than I think most of us expected in the field, both with glove and arm.
Shitty loss...
Dunedin81 : 5/24/2017 8:12 am : link
but as good as the pen has been all season it's difficult to get mad at them. Shit happens. Great start for Montgomery, I wish he'd been able to finish the inning (of course if he had blown the lead we'd be scouring Joe for leaving him in one batter too long).

Love the Judge, but people need to accept that he's not going to hit .300+ or OPS 1.000+ this year. He's going to regress, he's going to make adjustments, it's going to happen. I'm glad the Yankees are making at least some incremental adjustments to their anti-fun, anti-personality mindset in response to him but I worry that they're putting a little too much pressure on him.
Judge is doing fine, and showing real maturity as a hitter. He's not
